HONOLULU (AP) Hawaii's emergency management leader has resigned and a state employee who sent an alert falsely warning of an incoming ballistic missile has been fired, officials said Tuesday, weeks after the mistake caused widespread panic. Hawaii Emergency Management Agency Administrator Vern Miyagi stepped down Tuesday, state Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Joe Logan said. A second agency worker quit before disciplinary action was taken and another was being suspended without pay, Logan said in announcing results of an internal investigation.

Woohoo!
Can never let Mr. Miyagi get aware with a false Ballistic Missile Alert!
I noticed that immediately Hawaii congresspeople and many others blamed Trump and his handling of North Korea for the panic. Almost made me look for some tin foil.
When I first heard of this, I thought it might be a prank as a way to test Trump. My opinion gradually changed when I saw a screen shot of the menu, which I had to admit, could cause an accidental alarm if the operator was not careful. But now with four people losing their jobs, I might be back to the deliberate false alarm theory.
Worker Who Sent Hawaii False Alert Thought Missile Attack Was Imminent
We were initially told it was a "glitch". It's a human error. It's almost always a human error.
If the lower levels are fired (or prosecuted) for following orders from upper level political overseers, the problem will self correct.
I call BS on this revised story. This moron somehow thought he could get the blame laid off onto Trump. Thats why he planned and executed the warning.
Maybe just another ISIS dry run...
Incredible!
Holy frijoles! Well, Hawaii is run by Democrats so...
No way. No how this was an accident.
Just imagine say offhand about 20 years ago when having a cellphone was more of a luxury instead of an addictive social communications tracker.
Even if the sirens went off it wouldn’t really have created a panic.
I say just turn off the incoming missile warning, keep the tsunami and others.
Just take care of the problem instead of buildin bandaid factories and offended snowflake recuperating societies.
well it’s about damn time
Yes, when the guy started stonewalling, it was clear that it wasn’t an accident.
Gee, that didn't take long. I'm sure there'll be plenty of coverage too. Thanks Menehune56.
