The father of three daughters who were abused by Larry Nassar tried to attack the former doctor in an Eaton County, Michigan, court Friday before he was tackled and arrested by security. Randall Margraves said he was a "distraught father" and cursed at Nassar, but Judge Janice Cunningham told him that was not allowed in court. He then asked the judge for personal time alone with the "demon." "I would ask you, as part of the sentencing, to grant me five minutes in a locked room with this demon," he asked. "Would you give me one minute?"
The judge declined, saying, "That's not how our legal system works." "Well, I'm going to have to," Margraves responded, and he launched into a sprint toward Nassar. Security rushed to stop him and grabbed him from behind before he was able to reach Nassar. "I want that son of a b****!" the man yelled as he was being detained. Yep, nullify
Things got worse with Nasser, who might have gotten away with his buzzes had he kept them private during normal full-awake medical exams. He went with the teams and gave them pills a la Cosby, and odd “physical therapy” in that context.
Ultimately, we can’t even hope to police everybody’s dirty thought about a person who did nothing she purposed to provoke it. As the scene back in the Garden of Eden showed, even fig leaves weren’t good enough to stop the lusts born of sin. We can only hope to police their grosser conduct, and when Nasser started giving girls pills and was found “examining” them when they came to, that zone was entered.
Maybe it would have been better to have had a woman doctor. Though now we have lesbians becoming prominent on the scene. A combination of precautions and watchfulness is the best thing. Anyhow I hope that if I had a daughter I might raise her in such a way that if a doctor unbeknownst to me gave her a pill that zonked her and then she came to during a “physical examination” — she’d tell me “Doctor N. did something weird!” She wouldn’t have to write an advice columnist.
I wonder if this guy’s daughters would not have been molested by Nassar if the FBI had moved on him sooner.
