We had such parades before, during, and after both world wars.

Yes, the USSR and PRC overdid things, but the thing itself is a time-honored tradition that extends back at least to the Romans.
Really, how different is that from an airshow?
If they get in front and try to block the parade, then pepper spray, paddy wagon, and bail set at 2000$. Should do the job.

We had plenty of M113 in 11ACR in RVN. Used them more like “Very Light Tanks” than personal carriers.
Would mount a .50 M2 and at least 2 M60s, and lots of ammo and M-79 LAWs. They worked very well busting bush. If we found a well-build bunker, we would turn 45 degrees to the bunker, so the M2 and one M60 kept heads down and the man in the far back had a clean shot with the M79 LAW with no problem from the backblast.
Worked every time.... :)

Most draw the line much sooner, most think we should not even have a military. They want that money spent on giveaway programs for votes.
