We had plenty of M113 in 11ACR in RVN. Used them more like “Very Light Tanks” than personal carriers.
Would mount a .50 M2 and at least 2 M60s, and lots of ammo and M-79 LAWs. They worked very well busting bush. If we found a well-build bunker, we would turn 45 degrees to the bunker, so the M2 and one M60 kept heads down and the man in the far back had a clean shot with the M79 LAW with no problem from the backblast.
Worked every time.... :)
I removed the .50 ammo can...replaced it with a footlocker, filled it .50 ammo. Kept 2 extra 50 barrels strapped to the side of the tank turret.
