Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said Sunday she believes Congress should hold President Trump accountable for the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against him.
I think he should resign, and if hes unwilling to do that, which is what I assume, then Congress should hold him accountable. Were obligated to have hearings, Gillibrand said in an interview with CBS's 60 Minutes.
Gillibrand, who was among the first to call for former Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) to resign due to sexual misconduct allegations, was also one of several Democratic senators who late last year said Trump should resign due to sexual misconduct allegations that surfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign.
If he did not resign, the senators and some of Trumps accusers said Congress should investigate the claims. When asked on "60 Minutes" why it took until late last year to call for Trump to be held accountable, Gillibrand said "something changed" when he was elected, "and I think it changed for women."
Trump attacked Gillibrand on Twitter after she called for his resignation, saying she would do anything for campaign donations.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Sunday criticized the senator for protecting and defending Bill Clinton when he was accused of sexual misconduct. Clinton left office in 2000, and Gillibrand was elected to Congress in 2006.
Gillibrand, who recently said Clinton should have resigned at the time, told 60 Minutes her perspective on the allegations against the former president has changed.
I think Im not alone here. Like, how many of us were having this conversation even a year ago? she said. I think were all learning.
She declined to say whether shes spoken to the Clintons since she changed her stance, but added that Hillary Clinton is still her greatest role model in politics.
Gillibrand should resign.
So says the fake Senator and dim bulb.
[Now you see why Ive been posting forever about what a complete idiot Gillibrand is. Because, she IS!]
Running neck and neck with Patty Murray.
This is all they have. The party of nothing.
Dems are scared to death Trump will jail Obama/Hillary and a bunch of FBI traitors
Can we hold hearings on how Gilibrand promised voters in upstate NY she was “pro-life” and “pro-2nd Amendment” and then became “pro-choice” and “anti-gun” when running for Senate?
Just saw her on 60 Minutes.
To suggest she’s confused would be an understatement.
Gillibrand/Holder 2020! Collective IQ: 80.
(The IQ test in common use today isnt reliable below 80 with a standard deviation of 15 and average of 100).
HTH does something this dense pass the NY Bar Exam???
I think were all learning.
I think that defines the term “flexible ethics and morals” in political creatures.
SOOOO—Senator Gillibrand-—WHY is Franken still in Congress? He was supposed to resign on Jan 2, IIRC.
NOTHING any of you Dems promise seems to mean anything....just words by derelict fools.
IF you seriously think that Congress should ‘remove Trump’, then you can also realize the consequences from the 53 million votes who support Trump. We won’t go quietly, I promise.
Before Hillary is arrested she will die of “natural Causes”—they can not afford to let her talk—lots of folks would be ruined—Both GOP and Dems.
[Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand]
Friend of Hillary Rodham Clinton.”””
Replacement Senator from NY when Clinton became Sec State, IIRC.
Gillibrand shows she's a real intellectual with that statement. I would ask how does an idiot get elected to the United States Senate but what's the use....
Replacement for HRC when she went to Sec State.
By definition, the accusations against President Trump are not impeachable offenses. First, they are neither high crimes nor misdemeanors. Second, they were made public prior to the election. The voters chose President Trump knowingly; it would be a reprehensible overreach for Congress to overturn the election over an unprovable claim that was known at the time to the voters.
53 million votes”””
63 million votes !!! sorry
LOL. True.
