It’s coming to a head because we’re now engaged in outright military conflict with Russians in the Middle East and elsewhere. And that was the goal:

You left out the Democrat Party and the American media.

that is a good observation but I assure you that we will never support that . We are flat broke. We don’t care what happens in Syria and we are militarily weak.

Yes as I’ve stated elsewhere: Russian expats in the U.S. point out to me all the time how similar our Leftist media in the U.S. is to the state-propaganda garbage from the Kremlin back in Russia. It’s as though American media outlets learn from Russia, and they’re just upset *their* Dear Leader is not in the White House, but Trump is instead. Threw them off!

And our Deep State behaves like KGB.

Indeed, and HR McMaster and Jim Mattis point out just that. We are weakened. :(

I think we’re involved in Syria in rather delicate ways...not outright conquering the country or something.

But unfortunately at this point the Assad/Russia/Iran side has grown so unavoidably hostile to any possible common interest to be forged at this point!

Now you say “similar!?” I thought you were talking about direct Russian influence.

Sorry:

Yes there is direct Russian influence in the political process via financial dealings, social media infiltration, hacking, etc...

But indirectly: the American Media is behaves like Russia *as* it blames Russia.

In the same way, the Russian media scapegoats the U.S. for everything..Been doing it for years and more blatantly than we have even after the “end” of the Cold War. (Hint: Cold War never ended for them because they won’t concede they lost!)

I don’t agree. I think it’s much more likely that the MSM and politicians are being directly manipulated by Russians than financial dealings, social media and hacking.

Why do the Dem want war with Russia? Are they wholly owned Chinese agents?

I noticed Mulleur isn’t coming out to announce no collusion...This is all crap. Mueller needs to come out and say Trump and his campaign is innocent and I have no further work to do. That’s what everyone is waiting for and they refuse to let that happen.

So when is he going to indict George Soros for meddling in US elections?

Agreed. Soros is as bad as Putin in this regard. They hate each other, but they’re united in their hatred for America.

combat_boots. We're already in proxy war with Russia in Syria, and a set of Russian mercenaries have already been killed by American forces.

Putin has allied himself with not only Assad, but Iranian forces sympathetic to terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah.

If you're going to blame Dems, blame also the Trump admin - and pro-Trump conservatives like Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton who support increasing sanctions against the Putin regime and have said the following:

Arkansas senator Tom Cotton blasted Barack Obama for his accommodation of Russian aggression over the past eight years and argued that Russia has committed "crimes and transgressions against the United States and our interests" while the administration "looked the other way." - Mike Warren

"Vladimir Putin has once again thrown Alexei Navalny in jail because he is afraid of his own people - and what they would do if they were free. Every time he imprisons an opposition leader, it only shows the world just how corrupt and oppressive his regime truly is."

So if any of us U.S. citizens posted anti-Putin things on the Internet, could we be indicted in Russia of trying to interfere with Russian elections? Just wondering.

I would be astounded if the U.S. Government didn't have any operatives with accounts on VKontakte (the Russian equivalent of Facebook) where they would masquerade as Russian youth and mess with them.

Go to any Russian news website’s comment section. Every article regarding elections, Middle East or Ukraine is infested with hate-spitting Marxist trolls who are obviously non-native. Although they have followers among local Russian idiots.

Do you think this will ever apply to Mexico or Mexicans?

If there’s no way to extradite the Russians to stand trial, why bother indicting them in the first place?

So they can say their investigation was “successful and not a waste of money”.

Frankly, the incredible good news here is that this is apparently the worst they have.

For me, it’s the equivalent of saying they discovered that the cab driver that drove Flynn to his interview with the FBI has an unpaid parking ticket. i.e. the only reason they are reporting this huge NOTHING burger is that it is all they have, and any reasonable person thinks they should be embarrassed for even indicting them.
