NY Times Skips Facts to Claim New Indictments Make Trump 'Hoax Claim Harder to Sell'

In the wake of the Friday indictments of Russians by special counsel Robert Mueller, several media outlets have found a highly disingenuous way to continue attacking President Donald Trump as claiming collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign is a "hoax" or "fake news." Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosensteini explicitly stated they presented no evidence of collusion in the indictment, but somehow, he made trump's "hoax claim harder to sell."

An example of an MSM story ignoring the specifics of Trump's "hoax" charges appeared in the Friday New York Times in Indictment Makes Trump’s Hoax Claim Harder to Sell:

Bloomberg says that Mueller refutes Trumps claims that Russian meddling was a hoax. Of course Trump never said that the allegation that the Russians were meddling was a hoax. What he said was that the allegation of Trump campaign collusion with the Russians was a hoax. I think Muellers indictments support Trumps claims.

More specifically, the original claim was that the Trump campaign had something to do with the hacking of the DNC emails, the crime that was supposed to be the original focus of the investigation, and for which - more than a year ago - the government claimed it had solid evidence.

But none of the indictments had ANYTHING to do with the hacking of the DNC or of Podesta. What happened to that solid evidence of a year ago? Or WAS there solid evidence? THAT, I think, needs investigating.

Trump and all republicans said from day one the Russians were interfering. Some of the details in these charges were available to lawmakers long ago. What is also consistent is that the campaign was not involved and it had no impact on the outcome.

That claim was made by Schiff. The man is a liar.

Quelle surprise. Like he encouraged violence at a rally, or encouraged Russia to hack the DNC, or in his interview with Holt, said he fired Comey to make the Russia investigation go away (he said the opposite).

The press lies like a rug. See "the snake," 1st amendment version.

investigate the FakeNewsMSM relentless attempts to influence the election on behalf of Hillary Clinton. and their refusal to accept the outcome when they failed.

quantify that and compare it with the fantasies about a few Russian trolls on FB ... or something.

Despite their excellent business reporting, Bloomberg is as shockingly and virulently anti-Trump as anyone or anything I have ever heard.

Many good points in this story but why is it that so many political news blogs are so burdened by pop ups and refreshing ads that you can’t read the darn story without the page crashing at least twice?

" . . . why is it that so many political news blogs are so burdened by pop ups and refreshing ads that you can’t read the darn story without the page crashing at least twice?"

About 2 years ago, many web sites went from the old format of highlighting a few stories and providing links to others, to a format in which virtually every story, complete with photos, is on the front page. Unless you have mega-memory, it takes a long time for the page to load, and you scroll down and scroll down and scroll down ad nauseum. Posting comments on these sites can become problematical, sometimes almost impossible, without the site freezing. Some conservative sites - like National Review - are among the worst offenders.

Thanks for that explanation. It’s really annoying. There’s sites like Townhall or the Hill that I used to read occasionally and have now completely given up on. Sadly the New York Times loads perfectly every time.

The problem is also compounded by pop-ups and ads and other stuff working behind the scenes. A computer Geek could probably explain it better than I can.

The New York Times should be renamed - something like: ‘We R Useful Idiots’... With the “R” backwards like in ‘Toys R Us’...
