“Rush Limbaugh Thinks Undocumented Immigrants Should Get Citizenship but Not Vote for 15 to 25 Years.”

Rush, you should listen to your old buddy F. Lee Levin. He says that the Fed Courts will never allow this. That once these people get amnesty they'll file suit alleging an infringement of their 14th. Amendment rights. They will win and immediately get full citizenship.

He is right about that Rush.

I was listening to Rush a little while ago while running an errand. He was talking about the Russia endictments and the Facebook guy saying the Russian ad buys happened after the election. My take on after the election Russian adbuys on Facebook is that no one expected anybody from Facebook to say the purchases occurred AFTER the election. They expected Facebook to stick with the Russia Russia Russia meddling for Trump nonsense. But all this says to me is that someone in this country faked Russian ad buys in order to cover their tracks. It’s a cover story created after the election.

I was stunned at the number of people who haven’t heard the idea and don’t quite even now understand my point. “Wow, did you see that? Limbaugh actually said he’s support amnesty!”

There are a lot of Freepers who still don't get it. Oh well.

I read an article claiming that 292 total guns have been used in mass shootings over the 50 years or so. Call it 300.

300 million guns in America.

Only one gun in a million has been used in a mass shooting. That’s incredible gun control. Obviously it’s not gun control that is the problem.

Show me a city or state where only one person per million commits a murder.

The answer is better security at schools and lunatic control. Because way more than one lunatic in a million commits murder.

I didn’t see him because I refuse to watch Chris Wallace. Even for Rush, and I have been a fan since the CompuServe forum. lol

I always record Fox News Sunday from the Fox station in Nashville on my cable dvr and then watch it after Fox and Friends is over. I did see the first part of the interview and waited for the second part but never saw it.

Later in the evening when Fox News repeated the program I heard Chris Wallace say they will bring the second part of the interview later. So I watched all the other stuff and then the rest of the interview

This is one of those issues where the left’s total rejection of those on the other side serves to ensure that solutions are never arrived upon.

The problem with the conversation is a lack of respect for other people’s values. There is no question that on every campus you will find 1 or 2 or more people of unquestionable reputation, reliability and dedication who would agree to discretely carry concealed on campus and pledge that, God forbid, in the unlikely event of a threat they would step up to defend the kids. But a vocal grouping of people will simply never accept this, and some heap scorn on those with a different view rather than respect their fidelity to a peaceful, but different, way of living from their own.

Ironically, there is probably more “trust” placed on the police by the left than on the right so to speak. Those who wish to outlaw or severely restrict access to guns are not likely to also agree to disarm the police forces. But on the right, many people acknowledge that when seconds count the police are only minutes away.

The kids as well as the teachers and staff are basically, by law, mandatory sitting ducks. It is not feasible to expect that school campuses will be made as secure as a penitentiary - and even in prisons we know all kinds of malfeasance occurs. Build a giant wall, someone will sneak contraband in via drone if they are so determined. It is likewise unrealistic - and imo would add negatively to the already misguided nature of public schooling - to hire a police force for every campus. There are no perfect solutions but making people, by law, impotent to protect themselves is part of the problem we already have.

Re: “Can't Vote For 15 to 25 Years”

Get Real!

This is the first utterly bogus fallback position for every “Conservative” who supports Amnesty.

Every Hard Left legal organization in America will be in court 15 to 25 seconds after this legislation passes.

The 3 million DACAs will be treated just like every other legal immigrant, including the opportunity to apply for citizenship - and voting rights - after 5 years.

In fact, the Sanctuary cities and states will arbitrarily grant their DACAs the right to vote if they have already lived in the USA for 5 years.

But don't despair, “Conservatives.” We will still have our time honored list of utterly bogus excuses for committing political suicide...

(1) Voter fraud!
(2) We failed to convert “Conservative” immigrants!
(3) White “Conservatives” stayed home on election day!

Here in conservative God’s country, we have locked high school doors with sheriff’s deputy at the entrance. That is, entry and exit during class room hours is restricted. I’m not sure about what measures are taken at elementary and middle schools.

I think the policy has worked well since implemented I believe post columbine.

At least one armed intruder was taken down and arrested.

“one gun in a million”

Great way to frame the debate. However, the ratio is even smaller, as you’d need to quantify the total number of guns in existence over the last 50 years.

IOW - there are ~300 million now - but how many have been “decommissioned” over the last 50 years? Another 50-100 million?

Do you recall how “mass shooting” was defined in the article you read?

There are many definitions in common use.

For instance, the FBI crime statistics define a mass shooting as 4 or more deaths, and there are usually 100+ of those each year.

Thanks.

I used to enjoy listening to Rush and other talk shows back in the 90s. But, eventually, they spoke for 30-35 minutes, then I had to tolerate 25-30 minutes of commercial or blather. I just don’t have the patience for that.

So, in 1998 I completely quit listening to radio.

I just did some quick googling for these stats: The average high school campus built after 2002 is 125,000 sq ft in size, close to 2.5 acres. That’s the average. 70% of high school students attend a school with more than 1000 students and half of all high school kids attend a campus with more than 1500 students.

I am glad your Sheriff’s deputy stopped an intruder. But you were in high school once. There is no good or efficient way to secure a perimeter of 125,000 sq ft without making it a prison or a military camp. It is the same logic as used in the general gun control debate. They will put a fence around the campus and tell everyone they must enter via the main entrance and show ID and walk through a metal detector etc. And all the good people will follow the rules and go through the main entrance. Those who wish to flaunt the rules, including potentially some bad people, will just cut a hole in the back fence at night and smuggle in contraband, just like they did when we were kids.

It’s part of a longstanding argument that the liberals want immigrants for their votes - not for any of the reasons they give.

When Limbaugh makes this argument, they tend to lock up.

I don’t much listen to him, but I’ve heard him make this proposal from time to time for years.

There are *not* 300 million guns out there.

There were 300 million guns *before* Obama was President.

Now, there are over 400 million guns, probably over 420 million guns.

Here is an attempt to come up with that number. Good reason to believe it is much, much smaller.

I think your numbers are off. There may be 100+ instances where 4 or more people are shot, but not where 4 or more are killed.

Do you have a source? My estimate, based on following these things pretty closely, would be less than 20 cases a year where 4 or more people are killed, and most of those are domestic situations or gang warfare, not rampage killers.

The FBI definition was for rampage killers and excluded gangs and domestics.
