If Mastercard were to do the same, assault weapons would be eliminated from virtually every firearms store in America because otherwise the sellers would be cut off from the credit card system. What's to stop me from plunking down cash for my next firearm?

If someone wanted to go this way...why not also limit alcohol or tobacco sales via credit cards as well? You could see gun sales switch over and just mark the transaction as candy sales where you buy a AR15 and a Snickers bar.
To take this suggestion as some serious amount of judgement...shows the lack of knowledge over how sales transactions work and how credit cards have been attached to society.
