I go to the VA for my tinnitus only - freebie hearing aids.

My brother-in-law (RIP) had a terrible time trying to get hearing aids from the VA as he had served as an engine mechanic for the Navy and flown as a crew member. They said they wanted to see documentation of combat. The combat missions he had flown (e.g, Lebanon) were for the CIA and no record was kept of the actions.

I don’t know which VA you used. I have been to 3 over the past couple of years, Cleveland OH (5 star rating), Pittsburgh PA (5 star rating), and Tampa FL (3 star rating) and have had excellent care and well treated at all 3.

If I outlive my wife, my plan is to die in my house and stink up the place so badly that those who have to clean up the mess (likely folks like these “nurses”) will be so overcome by the foulness of it all that they will be traumatized for life.

When going to the VA Clinic, if I can avoid the Black fat women there, I get very good service.

Although I am a combat vet, being in combat is not a prerequisite to receive treatment at the VA.
In fact, the medical condition doesn't even have to be service related.

I read the article. Can someone familiar with this sad story ---tell me who installed the video camera? the family? the facility?

Did management or the family suspect abuse?

Had the patient told his family - "They don't help me?"

A lot of the VA facilities give very good care. Many of the problem facilities are in areas where the general population is a problem due to racial hatred and lack of ethics, period. As for Atlanta—the largest trauma center in the city, Grady Hospital, has had unconscious patients raped by staff members and wedding rings stolen off of their fingers by staff members in the ER. Unfortunately, the VA’s biggest problem has been the inability to fire problem employees, from the top down. I hear that is changing.
