STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA)
At least five students were arrested Friday as hundreds of others from several Stockton high schools walked out of classes in protest of gun violence after last week's deadly shooting at a Florida high school.
Students at Stagg, Edison, Chavez, Lincoln and Village Oak high schools were walking along streets, creating traffic problems in the area as streets were blocked off.
Stockton police said some students threw rocks and damaged both police and citizen vehicles.
Five arrests were made, including charges of battery on an officer, resisting arrest, taking an officer's baton and vandalizing vehicles, including patrol vehicles, Stockton police said.
Those arrested ranged from 14-years-old to 18-years-old. The 18-year-old was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail and the juveniles were cited to their parents, according to Stockton Police.
During one incident, an officer approached a group of students attempting to leave a school by jumping a fence. When the officer approached the students, police said they fought with the officer and took his baton.

Because they think it's important.
But not here.
I don’t remember any kids of my era saying they “fought with police and took his baton.” Wow.
Is it just me, or does this seem like the kind of societal division that won’t be getting better?
There are radical and violent revolutionary socialists and fascists, who are hell bent on taking away that what we know we will not surrender.
A blind man can see a train wreck coming.
If any of these kids are illegal aliens, they should be deported forthwith.
Time to shut down social media as a very real threat to the Republic. Its being used to radicalize our children (if not the schools themselves)
Comcast, Disney, and CNN are fomenting this chaos.
Funny, because I went to Stockton High in the 9th grade and they had a police station next to the cafeteria.
“Time to shut down social media as a very real threat to the Republic.”
Nonsense.
Purge the upper ranks of the education establishment, and prevent other radicals from emerging.
And establish law on what can be taught and/or discussed in the Public Schools.
CERTAINLY any form of political advocacy should be outlawed, with criminal penalties.
Yes to the schools themselves. They are cultural Marxist indoctrination centers.
Teachers are enabling and encouraging such protests. Teachers got their final brainwashing in college and the NEA maintains it. My kids decades ago had a poli sci teach that held up Michael Moore books and berated Republicans.
Many of these kids are effectively soldiers now. I dont doubt some woukd don a boom vest for some glory.
Final note: VOUCHERS!
Theyre not JUST getting it from the schools - Facebook, instagram, Snapchat and Tumblr all have social activist sections (many run by the companies themselves) that target and radicalize the teens.
Black Panther was pure, racist, agit-prop
Theres nothing more effective than a good old violent anti-gun protest.
In my day there was a song: "I fought the law and the, law won".
When you march peacefully, carry signs, chant slogans, etc., that’s a protest. When you start fights with police and bash police cars, that’s a riot.
Grew up in Stockton. I see no reference to anyone from my Alana mater, St Marys, engaging in this conduct. Hmmm.....
Stockton, of all places... where this stuff began in ‘89.
The left has created their mobs of bloodthirsty little monsters and is setting them loose on society.
