I remember reading about Stalin's purported purges against the Jews before the Wall fell but don't know what is true. This is what I remember.

It was thought that Stalin, ever on the alert for possible plots against him and always seeking enemies to whom he could lay blame for the failures of "scientific socialism" had at last thought to have seen enemies in what once was a force in Soviet Communism: Left wing Jews.

Long been the whipping dog of the Czars, Jews, particularly Left wing radicals, made a large part of the Russian Communist movement. Having gotten rid of nearly every other possible rival to his mad rule, Stalin eventually fell into the rut that ensnared the Czars, Hitler and now him, Anti-semitism.

If the story is true, however the "Jooz" struck first, possibly his own doctor if my memory served. Thus no Jewish pogrom got off the ground.

Now to American Jewish Left.

I found it incredible that the Secular Jewish Left found enemies in Republicans while ignoring the very real enemies of all Jews in the Democratic Party. The party of the then very strong, very influential and very anti-Semetic KKK.

I can understand American Jews being a bit gun shy after their cousins experience in Europe but the Democrats?

Inconceivable!

I can only guess that the very WASPish Ivy League, then very much in the hands of Northeastern GOP, were very distasteful and more of a threat to the intellectuals of the Jewish Left, being geologically close and more familiar with their ideological foes(of secular, leftist Jews) and the guardians of Northern Industrialist, the Grand Old Party. (So much for Jewish Left being down for the Negro Movement, always promising blacks but never delivering..)

Now it's the Hispanics that will get the gravy while blacks are still waiting for a few beans(to borrow a phrase) "Beware of Democrats making promises"

However I guess Truman's(Trump's?)recognition of Israel in 1949, despite the Very WASPy State Department's advice(good advice, in my opinion) of not doing so because of the fear of inflaming the "Arab Street"

It did solidify Jews in the Democratic Party(despite the Left's NOW open hostility to the very existence of the State of Israel and the welcome mat the Righteous Right has for Tel Aviv in the Republican Party, which is quite a story how Southern Baptists and Evangelicals( never before being supportive of the formation of the modern State of Israel) to being it's strongest American ally)

And gave the "George Bush's" of this nation an excuse to support foreign wars in the Middle East of which we have no national interest and make permanent enemies of Muslims everywhere..

The secular Left has long used the Holocaust as the "ultimate result of right wing politics" even though Hitler was an avowed enemy of Capitalism and the conservatives of Germany(they were part of the "Stab in the Back")

Any discussion of long range politics the Left will use the Nazis as an example of the National's position(conveniently forgetting it was the "socialist" part of Hitler's ideology that made it deadly and most in common with international socialism which is the desired goal of "globalists")

Long range, this can be construed as "destroying western civilization"

Russian Jews were the second largest group in the Soviet Communist party so Stalin was concerned with the loyalty of Russian Jews in his government after the formation of the state of Israel. So he envisioned a purge of Jews of the soviet communist party in what was known as the “Doctor’s Plot.” The histories say that the charges were all bogus. Yeah this is pretty close to it. In the 1950’s New York City & much of the rest of the northeast were still ruled by WASPs. Their power collapsed in the 1960’s at the same time as all the colonial empires collapsed. For the last couple of decades, places like Harvard and other schools in the IVY’s have put limits on the number of Chinese they admit. A similar limit was placed on Jews prior to the 1960’s.
Those limits were abolished after the crack up of anglo saxon civilization in the 1960’s. Now we in the midst of another cultural crack up. I have heard that recently the number of whites entering Harvard has crossed below 50%.

I don’t think that Trump recognition of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel will have as much effect on liberal Jewish voting patterns in the USA as Truman’s recognition of Israel or the blood libels inveighed against McCarthy. you hear echos of these same libels today.

then as now imho there are too many arabists in the government...and then as now that plays out as a background to events.

The democrat party is turning arabist. why? imho the holocaust is a crippling burden to bear to non jewish whites. but to non whites the holocaust is just off putting. as well, the democrats have basically abandoned whites. they believe the future belongs to non whites. they good reason to believe so. they only need to flip Texas and Florida to lock republicans out of power in washington dc just about permanently. they’re only a couple of decades or less from doing just that.

American Evangelical Christians are different animals than most people imagine them to be. There’s nothing old world about them at all. By american evangelical tradition— america is the new jerusalem. These folk are soaked in the bible. The blessings and curses of Genesis 12:3 are taken seriously. Truman would have been the last of the democrats who knew something about the bible.

But there are also end time prophecies. For the end times to come, and Jesus to return—the state of Israel has to be constituted. That happened. imho water independence four years ago —is almost as profound as the founding of the state of Israel,.

Agree, the middle eastern wars have all been a stupid waste of money. Permanent enemies? Maybe not. The Israelis have recently signed water agreements with Jordan and the Palestinians to provide them with water from their desalination plants in exchange for Jordan sending water from their desalination plant on the red sea to israeli farms in the lower negev.
