As far as the cops who were at the school at the time of the shooting, what we’ve found out over the last few days is they did the wrong thing ON PURPOSE, because they were ORDERED to do so.

“Everything I was trained on mass casualty events says they did the wrong thing,” he explained. “You don’t wait for the scene to be cleared. You go in immediately armed. Retrieve the victims. You can’t leave the victims laying there.”

The old procedure was to wait for back-up, secure the scene, set-up a command post, etc., before going in to an active shooter situation.

But that has changed since Columbine. The lesson of Columbine is that the cops cannot just set up outside and wait it out, because while they are waiting, kids are literally dying.

So not only did the cops cower in place, they apparently prevented EMS workers from saving lives.

The only way I can think of how they could have possibly screwed this up worse would have been to go in and shoot the students themselves.

F’n a*holes.

All this gross incompetence - and yet somehow this is the fault of the NRA?

Broward County is firmly in the control of the orthodox progressives. Nothing they do would seem rational or familiar to most decent Americans. Their leaders would become emotionally outraged if ICE arrested and deported an illegal alien. If an illegal alien murdered or caused harm to an American citizen, not so much.

Am I dreaming or has the CNN narrative of the Left created a backlash that will push them further into the ash can of history?

I’m not a cop, nor military- but in a case where you have casualties waiting for rescue, don’t you first secure an area where you know the shooter(s) isn’t, and start working on victims there?

We can hold Broward County’s Promise Program as the root of the entire chaos at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Here is the purpose of the program from the website:

https://www.browardprevention.org/behavior/promise/

The PROMISE Program (Preventing Recidivism through Opportunities, Mentoring, Interventions, Supports & Education) represents the most comprehensive thinking available to address socially unacceptable or illegal behavior, targeting both short and long term academic success, aligning best practice models and Restorative Justice principles, and developing pro-social and resiliency skills. PROMISE, while addressing the behavior specific to the youth, is committed to addressing family and community circumstances that serve as both strengths and challenges for the youth’s resiliency. PROMISE is an intervention-based program designed to correct student behavior that violates Policy 5.8 and/or Policy 5006, Suspension and Expulsion. PROMISE utilizes a comprehensive set of supports and education. The intent of PROMISE is to safeguard the student from entering the judicial system.

It took the Las Vegas responders MORE than 35 min to simply go up to the 35th floor AFTER they had arrived at the Mandalay.

Some say they had to wait on permission from the Mandalay to go up, but others say the permission ahd to come from elsewhere.

As the Deputies huddled outside the school, they discussed their reverence for the Supreme Court, which had long ago ruled that they, as law enforcement officers, had no duty to protect the public and then shared their retirement plans with each other...?

Reminds me of Chicago. Democrat Precinct captain pays disturbed kid to set fire to apartment buildings to make them cheap to buy by the #2 political power in Chicago. One of the burning buildings has a 2 year old standing on the couch at the 2d floor front window banging on the window while smoke is pouring out from all sides of the house.

A neighbor and I grab an extension ladder and start to raise it to the 2d floor window. The police are ordered over the radio to stop us and not allow us to save the 2 year old. The police are told to wait for the Fire Department and just do crowd control.

There is a brand new 5 engine Fire Station just 3 blocks west. But dispatch is ordered to dispatch fire trucks from a fire station over 5 miles away. That was the same for all 103 fires in 93 buildings in the 2 block area in a 9 month span... all set by people paid by the Democrat Precinct Captain.

Of course, the 2 year old died... of smoke inhalation.

Once the shooter got inside it became a hostage rescue. They should have gone in immediately and EMS would have followed them in. I guess when you get paid for not reporting crimes, the higher ups were worried about their bonuses.

I think somebody was wanting some large casualty numbers for CNN’s “town hall”.
