Kroger announced Thursday that it will not longer sell firearms or ammunition to persons under 21 years of age.
The grocery chain sells guns and ammunition at its Fred Meyer stores in the western U.S. Those sales will continue but persons under the age of 21 will be prohibited from purchase.
CNN Money reports that Kroger released a statement, saying, In response to the tragic events in Parkland and elsewhere, weve taken a hard look at our policies and procedures for firearm sales. Recent events demonstrate the need for additional action on the part of responsible gun retailers.

Damn. How’d I miss that in their 10 for $10 specials?
Isn’t this a violation of civil rights?
These big-box-stores are holding us hostage.
Towns tried to keep them out so main-street would not fail; but, the judges overrode local zoning codes to force main street out of business.
Now these giant corporations run by flaming liberals are taking our guns away.
If I remember correctly, not many mass shootings were done by those under 21.
Some punk Progressive at the grocery chain trying to appear relative .... going to ban the sale of bananas (look like pistols to some retarded Progressives) to the over 21 crowd?
“Isnt this a violation of civil rights?”
No, of course not.
Refusing to sell a wedding cake to a gay couple is, though.
Not that I’ve searched, but was never aware that Kroger Food Stores sold weapons or ammo. The closest thing to rootin tootin shootin ever purchased there was beans. This is in Texas, by the way (otherwise known as a pistol packing state)
Sounds like a lawsuit to me. After all, if a baker is not allowed to discriminate based on sexual preference, then Walmart, Kroger, etc should not be allowed to discriminate based on age.
As the second sentence in the excerpt states, Koger’s Fred Meyer stores sell firearms. I walked by the firearm counter a couple of minutes ago. No new signs about age restrictions up yet that I could see.
Kroger Market might sell weapons.
So what’s next, a max age of 60 since Stephen Paddock was 63?
So... Can a company arbitrarily raise the age to buy alcohol to say, 25? I’m confused.
Would be cool to get some ammo and ice cream in one swoop...
Doesn’t Dick’s sporting goods own another sporting goods chain?
Class action lawsuit. They have no legal right. Age discrimination
I shopped at Kroeger grocery store and never knew they sold guns.
I remember the good old days when I was a teen in the mid 1960s and could drop by any store that sold ammo, and there were quite a few, and buy a brick of .22s for a days shooting with my semi-auto Remington Nylon 66 and no one batted an eye.
Would be cool to get some ammo and ice cream in one swoop...

Store in my town is a gas station, a buffet (really good, too), and a gun store. And I dont mean three connected stores - im talking, basically, one big room. I can buy a gun or ammo, eat a nice lunch, and get gas in the space of 25 feet.
Why would a store name itself Dick’s? The modern connotations of the name probably drives away customers. Besides, they don’t have any bowling supplies so they are useless...
