North Korea makes 'agreement' with South Korea after historic meeting: KCNA

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met senior South Korean government officials for the first time and said it is his “firm will to vigorously advance” inter-Korean ties and pursue reunification, the North’s official news agency said on Tuesday.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un meets members of the special delegation of South Korea's President in this photo released by North Korea's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on March 6, 2018.

A 10-member South Korean delegation led by National Security Office head Chung Eui-yong traveled to the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, on Monday in hopes of encouraging North Korea and the United States to talk to one another.

Washington and Pyongyang have been at loggerheads for months over the North’s nuclear and missile programs, with U.S. President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un trading insults and threatening war.

Tensions between the two Koreas eased during the recent Winter Olympics in South Korea, where President Moon Jae-In hosted a high-level North Korean delegation. Kim Jong Un invited Moon to North Korea for a summit, which Moon said the two sides should work towards.

“Hearing the intention of President Moon Jae In for a summit from the special envoy of the south side, (Kim Jong Un) exchanged views and made a satisfactory agreement,” the North’s Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said of the meeting.

The agency did not provide details on what that agreement was but an official from the presidential Blue House in Seoul said it partially addressed the summit offer made by the North.

...

The delegation will wrap up a two-day trip to Pyongyang later on Tuesday after another meeting with North Korean officials, the spokesman said.

” anyone who thinks the Norks will give up power is on hallucinogens. Their idea of “unification” is solely under the control of Big Brother Kim Jong-un.”

I’m glad you got here quickly to nip this nonsense in the bud.

Reunificaion has been the unwavering policy of the North since 1949.

“This is just a calculated attempt by Kim to use the charm offensive of the Olympics to get South Korea to separate itself and drive a wedge between itself and the US in hopes to mitigate the effects of sanctions “

Chicken dinner coming your way!

Correct.

There could be no single country that would allow both systems to exist as they do now.

The north either surrenders to south or vice versa, but any compromise or merger is nothing but a liberal dream.

Too much evil has happened north of the 38th, and too much freedom exists south. Winner takes all.

Trump threatens the Chinese with tariffs and days later the Norks are cowering into submission.

Our President is the most masterful strategist our nation has ever known. He’s 3 steps ahead of everyone

Agree.

Amazing so many freepers here are against Trump’s tarrif moves and for barack husain obama’s and william jefferson clinton’s policies of kowtowing to China.

As a result of obama’s and clinton’s moves now the USA has no electronics industry, 5 trillion in deficits to China, and N korea has nukes.

Agreeing to talk is really not the huge step it’s pretended to be. Agreeing to terms is. And we haven’t seen any proposals yet.

"act like Q is some magical know-it all wizard"

No not at all. I'm in complete disagreement with him on the internet bill of rights.

What Q did was point out the Clinton are giving Kim money periodically. Some corporations are working with Kim as well. The Clintons are very tight with what they consider their money. They wouldn't pay Kim unless there is something he is giving in return.

Now that the Clintons didn't become president that deal is over similar with the Saudis accept they were giving money. Trump took advantage of that early on.

It's really very basic yet true.
