Joseph Farah
It must be nice to be Jeff Bezos.
How do you become one of the richest men in the world by founding a company that only recently gave a thought to profitability?
Amazon has been around a long time. Its one of the few Internet companies that was doing business 20 years ago, when I launched WorldNetDaily.com, now known as WND.com.
But it was less than three years ago that Amazon began to achieve any profits to speak of. And, even today, youd be shocked to know how high its revenues are and how relatively low its profits are.
snip
The first profitable year for Amazon was 2013. Fourth quarter profits were $239 million and $274 million for the year. The year before, Amazon posted a loss for 2012 of $39 million.
What happened to make 2013 so much better than the year before?
Amazon won a $600 million cloud computer contract from the CIA. That was the difference more than the difference.
Later that year, Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post for $250 million.

Who was CIA director when this deal with the Washington Post was finalized?
John Brennan.
You remember John Brennan? Hes the former CIA director, named by Barack Obama, who testified to Congress in March that Russia brazenly interfered in U.S. elections, including actively contacting members of Donald Trumps campaign but he stopped shy of dubbing it collusion.

The Power of the Web?
And ComDems pulling all the strings.
How can one read an article that starts off with a statement that stupid.
Bezos counted his profit in market share, you frikken idiot.
That's why he is the richest man in the world and you are a nobody.

Amazon loses cloud contracts ...
Faced with increased criticism, Pentagon slashes cloud computing contract awarded to an Amazon partner
Faced with criticism over how it awarded a contract to move computer systems to the Internet cloud, the Pentagon on Monday slashed a deal awarded to an Amazon partner, cutting the amount from nearly $1 billion to no more than $65 million, while dramatically limiting the scope of work.
DoD backs off cloud contract with Amazon partner worth nearly $1 billion
The Department of Defense announced Monday that it is substantially modifying the terms of a nearly $1 billion agreement it made with an Amazon partner company to transition agency data to the cloud.
The original agreement, signed in February, tasked Rean Cloud, LLC with enabling multiple agencies within the Defense Department to procure cloud solutions in a new streamlined process, but was immediately criticized by some in industry who feared the Pentagon was playing favorites.
In a protest to the Government Accountability Office, Oracle claimed that Rean serves as a front for Amazon Web Services and that the entire procurement process was shrouded in secrecy. Rean is an Amazon Web Services partner and reseller.
DoD backs off cloud contract with Amazon partner worth nearly $1 billion
Defense Department spokesman Col. Robert Manning announced March 5 that the contracts new ceiling will be $65,000,000, a significant reduction from the original five-year $950,000,000 and that the scope of the work will be limited.
Boom?
By frikken idiot, I mean Joseph Farah...not you TF.;-)
I was JUST thinking about this today..
.. In the dot-com era I worked for an internet media company. They made LOADS of money doing basically nothing.
But their insane profits (That Clinton made damned sure to examine thoroughly) are nothing, not even the humidity in the drop in the bucket that these social media companies took on without even charging money.
All of these companies are funded by the government to give them all of the data. Pure and simple.
Our Federal Government is using 1970's systems in a 2020 world. Going to the cloud is the best way to update ASAP and on the cheap.
Just make sure it is secure.
The Washington .comPost: “Veracity dies in darkness”
When your data is on someone else’s hard drive, your data is never really secure.
Just ask the NSA about Snodwen.
“All of these companies are funded by the government to give them all of the data.”
Could you elaborate thanks.
+1
Bkmrk.
Bkmrk.
For a long time I thought the cloud was BS (because of the point you make), but I have read many articles on how it can be secured.
If data on the cloud can be secured...the cloud has explosive potential to cut costs to users.
I am told by authoritative sources that it can be secured. Just don't hire the Awan brothers to secure it.

Also what kind of “business” can exist and not turn a profit for 20 years?
Ummmm .... something related to the government???
WaPo is the preferred leak outlet of the CIA. Now we know why.
Here was where I read that:
Glenn Greenwald Discusses The Deep State With Tucker Carlson
I found this ending remark both humorous and somewhat true:
“Important note that everyone must remember. The Washington Post is the designated media outlet for the public position of the CIA. And CNN is the specifically funded media outlet for the positions of the U.S. State Department.”
There is truth to that. Question? What was the result of it?
smile
Thanks
