STUNNING: Jeff Sessions Cited the WRONG LAW when He Recused Himself from Russian Witch Hunt – Took Advice From Obama Lawyers ( full title )

...

Sessions made the announcement the day after he was sworn in as Attorney General after advice from Obama lawyers in the Department of Justice.

...

legal expert Gregg Jarrett told Sean Hannity that Sessions used the WRONG LAW when announcing his recusal. He took advice from OBAMA OFFICIALS and they misled him.

Gregg Jarrett: He betrayed the president. He knew when he was sworn in that he was going to recuse himself and the very next day he put the recusal in motion. He never told the president about that. And by the way he cited the regulation in his recusal… He cited the wrong law. It didn’t apply.

Sara Carter: I think he was being advised badly at the time.

Gregg Jarrett: Yeah, by Obama’s holdovers. Who in the world would believe them?

Exactly. There is no vacancy until Tillerson leaves his post.

-- Pompeo is not appointed under the VRA, he's nominated to the post as per usual procedure and is subject to Senate consent. --

Technically, he hasn't been nominated for SoS at all, not yet. But lets assume for the sake of argument that he will be - a likely event, IMO.

What will Pompeo's post be, between the time Tillerson leaves the SoS post at midnight, March 31st, and the time Pompeo is confirmed as SoS?

His sorry a@@ should have stayed in the senate.

Instead, we lost a senate seat because Alabama suddenly started voting like a blue state for senators, and even this supposed GOOD man was a worthless pile in the end.

Heh. In a hypothetical future, the US Attorney in Arkansas indicts Clinton Foundation, and a previously unannounced Special Counsel indicts Comey, McCabe and a host of others for leaking. I can picture other legal jeopardy too, just tossing out as hypothetical to make a point.

According to the prevailing thoughts on FR, if Sessions is not the prime mover of that, he is totally worthless.

“If I were Trump I would be royally pissed off too.”

Long past time to be pissed off. President trump needs to fire his sorry a$$, and if his next nominee is not approved use a recess appointment. It time to take the gloves off. The Deep State plays for keeps, and were need to adopt their approach.

Good grief what happens to so called “intelligent” people when they go to the District of Criminals?

Why would Sessions go to an Obama Lawyer knowing about the Swamp?

I smell Bull $hit.

Sessions cannot possible be THAT STUPID THAT GULLIBLE.

If Sessions really did that, then he is 100% compromised.

I hope this is a bogus story.

-- Sessions isn't recused in any way of going after the Clinton Crime Syndicate. He's recused from anything to do with the Trump election campaign and its dealings with Russia. --

SESSIONS: I believe the proper thing for me to do, would be to recuse myself from any questions involving those kind of investigations that involve Secretary Clinton and that were raised during the campaign or to be otherwise connected to it.

GRASSLEY: OK. I think, that's -- let me emphasize then with a follow up question. To be very clear, you intend to recuse yourself from both the Clinton e-mail investigation and any matters involving the Clinton Foundation, if there are any?

SESSIONS: Yes.

Sessions explained "why" before making a commitment to recuse, should those issues come before him.

Not saying his explanation holds water here, where the standard for "Good AG" is wingman Eric Holder, just making note of what the explanation was.

GRASSLEY: During the course of the presidential campaign, you made a number of statements about the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, relating to her handling of sensitive e- mails and regarding certain actions of the Clinton Foundation. You weren't alone in that criticism.

I was certainly critical in the same way as were millions of Americans on those matters, but now, you've been nominated to serve as attorney general. In light of those comments that you made, some have expressed concerns about whether you can approach the Clinton matter impartially in both fact and appearance. How do you plan to address those concerns?

SESSIONS: Mr. Chairman, it was a highly contentious campaign. I, like a lot of people, made comments about the issues in that campaign. With regard to Secretary Clinton and some of the comments I made, I do believe that that could place me objectivity in question.

As for the recusal from investigating or prosecuting (or declining to prosecute) the Trump campaign, that is a blanket recusal, not limited to "things Russia." The principle there is he would give a pass, like Holder and Lynch did.

One of the things I miss is flame warring with you. Even though I remain cranky, the excitement has worn off.

__________

LOL .......... the battles very late at night on FR in the bad old days(10 to 20 years ago) were indeed beautifully EPIC ........ and generally carried more factual content.

___

ps -- Speaking of the old days, where did "Howlin" go?

Whatever happened to MiaT? Her posts were fabulous. What an artist.

The whole Sessions/Rosenstein/Mueller situation is a giant stalemate for Trump, and it truly sucks. There is no gkod, easy solution any more. He’s stuck with Sessions, until Mueller finishes, which won’t happen this year.

We all want the same thing: Public indictments of Team Sedition. All of them behind bars. Personally, I want hangings for treason.

There is only one way that could now happen. 2nd Special Counsel. There is no other reasonable option.

We need to melt the phones until that happens. And insist it is not another swamp creature. There are many congress critters already on board. We need to up the pressure.

Imho.

Obama Lawyers = worst in the world

No, not really.

Obama Lawyers = Best in the world. For Obama.
Clinton Lawyers = Best in the world. For Clinton.
Soros lawyers = Obama Lawyers = Best in the world. For Obama and Soros.

For the US? For the rule of law and for America? Worst in the world.

Howlin ran off to one of the numerous "anti-FR" boards, "wideawakes." I don't recall the subject of the April '07 purge, but that's when she left.

I have no idea what happened to MiaT. I think she just left as her "art" got more criticism than praise, and no sense in antagonizing a community. I use a text-only browser when reading and participating on FR, so wasn't bothered by the bandwidth demand (bandwidth much more an issue in those days), and also wasn't exposed to a good chuck of MiaT's creativity.

Sessions is either being threatened by the Deep State or he is a closet Never-Trumper who could care less about serving our President well.

Would the political consequences of firing him have been worse than what is happening now?
