New York Rep. Louise Slaughter, the top Democrat on the powerful House Rules Committee and the only microbiologist in the Congress, died Friday at a Washington hospital just days after being injured in a fall at home, her congressional office said.
She was 88.

Every citizen is supposed to have equal representation. However, the system of committees with their chairmen make some congresscritters more equal than others.
This causes otherwise sane people to keep returning doddering fools to congress because the longer they're there, the more seniority they have. Thus the more ability to drain the fed coffers and send the ill-gotten booty back to their districts.
Congressional seniority needs to end. If it does then term limits will become a naturally occurring event.

I spent some time looking for a list of current congressmen/woman by age or birth date. No such list seems to exist on the internet.
