On the first day of spring, the fourth noreaster in a month is barreling toward the Big Apple, where it is expected to dump as much as 10 inches of snow and disrupt travel Wednesday.
A winter storm warning is in effect from 12 a.m. Wednesday until 8 a.m. Thursday, with heavy snow and winds of about 45 mph expected, according to AccuWeather.
The wintry mix during the evening commute will change to all snow overnight (Wednesday) as the temperatures fall to the upper 20s, AccuWeather meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said.
The snow will intensify during the day Wednesday and is expected to cause problems for commuters, as well as flight delays and cancellations, she added.
Before the system heads off to Nantucket early Thursday, between 6 and 10 inches of snow may blanket the city and even more in the northern surburbs, where more than a foot is expected.
The heavy, wet snow and winds of as much as 45 mph will also cause tree damage and power outages, Pydynowski said.

NYC has been getting a snow job since they elected Bloomberg for Mayor. And the hits just keep on coming with the current Socialist in Gracie Mansion.
Arctic warming is causing more blizzards and cold weather in the N. Hemisphere, or something like that. It is apparent that children WILL know what snow is since they will likely be up to their eyebrows in the stuff.
Hoping the Weather forecasts scare Marylanders off the roads tomorrow.
Need them to say ‘..ice..’ over and over.
That usually keeps Maryland drivers under their beds.
I just realized the 1848 song “Oh Susanna” was about global warming
Oh, I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee!
Going to Louisiana, my true love for to see
Oh Susanna! Oh don’t you cry for me!
For I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee
It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry
The sun so hot I froze to death, Susanna don’t you cry
Oh Susanna! Oh don’t you cry for me!
For I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee!
We know who is to Blame!
Good for them.
They are getting another foot of global warming.
This is why New Yorkers who have lots of money own homes in Florida. Indeed, the famous Jewish communities in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale were founded early in the 20th Century by New Yorkers who took advantage of the Florida East Coast Railroad.
Thank goodness for Global Warming... I mean, if we didn’t have it, NYC would had 12 Nor’Easters this winter...
I'm retired here in Upstate so if I can stay in till spring....except for milk.
Happy first day of spring!
We in flyover country feel your pain, as we experience this most each and every year!
We call it Winter and also Early Spring!
Help out the economy - buy a shovel, ice melt, some boots and love the snow!
Its a free gift from God!
Maybe they should put up signs stating NYC is a Snow Free Zone?
I am trying to get my important errands done today, before travel becomes complicated. I wonder if Comrade Bill DeBlASSio will call off school if the Nor’easter pans out.

We already lost power for at least a day during each of the two previous storms this month. Getting tired of throwing out the perishables and restocking the frig...and being without FreeRepublic.
MAN! My daughter is going for a band trip to NYC Wednesday evening. What a bummer.
