I’m all for it. I want to volunteer to help build a real wall down there, I want to build it, I want to see it, and I want to touch it.
Israeli wall is mostly see through but with lots and lots of razor too to slow down trespassers. Pylons of razor wire.

What you are seeing is the steel framework that makes up the structural framework of Donald Trump's preferred wall design with a lower section with a view path and way for small animals to pass through it.
There is also another level of framework as well as concrete barrier to be added.
Here is the beauty of Trump strategic thinking.
The full 25 billion dollar wall includes a lot of security infrastructure not related to a physical wall structure and the full concrete structure will take quite some time to build.
However, it's really cheap and quick to put up the lower level first section of the wall. This lower level steel structure is a pretty effective wall in it's own right and more than adequate to secure the border in the short term for the first few years of construction.
Even better, this steel frame is fully complaint with the restrictions on the 1.6 Billion dollars congress explicitly approved in the omnibus appropriations act for wall construction.
So Trump will be able to to put up about 2/3 0f the total length of the fence with this Phase One stage of the wall construction in 18-24months. This Phase One wall construction obtain a very effective wall that, in and of itself, achieves Trump's initial goal of securing the Southern Border l and stopping drug and human trafficking as well shutting down the current free passage of terrorists and weapons across the border.
The Phase One construction will also put in the clear zones and basic access to allow Border Patrol agents to effectively and safely patrol the border area as well as providing the kind of access roads needed to support the traffic of heavy concrete trucks and have construction equipment needed to pour the Phase Two concrete top section.
Phase Two can also consist of adding the electronic, video monitoring and other military grade surveillance equipment
Phase Two can be done using defense spending and the Army Corps of Engineers if necessary and their is an absolute precedent of using Defense Budget dollars to secure and harden border wall infrastructure.
Better yet, the border walls consumption of steel is front loaded by frame construction which achieves a related Trump goal of re building our steel production infrastructure and stimulating both the economy in general and demand for domestic steel in particular.
Bottom line
Donald Trump keeps his promise to the American people to build a wall and secure our borders against the drug smuggling with is killing our kids and is destroying our inner cites and rural areas, shuts the border down to human trafficking and illegal immigration, allows our Border Patrol agents to safely and effectively shut down terrorist activity across the border using the 1.6 billion allocated by Congress for conforming Phase One construction .
The Phase One wall is already an imposing 90% solution to the border problem and it can be constructed very cost-effectively and in a very expedited fashion to seal was much border as possible in as short of a time frame as possible, perhaps as quickly as 18 months .
Defense money and Army Engineers can follow with more elaborate the Phase Two full wall construction with concrete, security barriers and installation of monitoring and surveillance infrastructure as quickly as needed. The rapid construction of the basic steel frame will front load the use of steel and help Trump strategically resurrect our beleaguered steel and coal industries all but wiped out under Obama
This folks, is what winning looks like.
He needs to build a real wall, not patch up fences that need to be patched up due to all of the invaders who have poured through them, and militarize the entire southern border.
These guys won’t be satisfied with anything less then the Berlin wall!

It's the basic steel frame work for Trumps preferred wall design. It can be put in place faster and for less money than most people expect.
End result - construction of an effective 85% solution that allows the Border Patrol to get control of the border and can be built way faster than anyone anticipated.
Full construction with concrete and security infrastructure can be added afterward with priority to high traffic , high risk and high payoff regions of the border to get maximum effectiveness as quickly as possible and to provide best security bang for the least buck.

Look at the pictures of the prototype wall with the open, steel bollard lower section that Trump liked so much.
It’s pretty much identical to the frame they are constructing.
My bet is we that steel frame work up and sealing the border faster and for less money than anyone dreamed possible - all using the 1.6 billion that Congress though they were giving Trump the middle finger by approving - and fully complying with all the restrictions they though they were putting on Trump :-)
