Great briefing this afternoon on the start of our Southern Border WALL!
Ok. It’s a theory. I think it looks exactly like the fence that’s been in that area for years.
Makes lot of sense to have a coil of razor ribbon for invaders to jump onto.
That’s the beauty of President Trump trolling them with this tweet; they now approve of a border barrier as Obama built! “You didn’t build that!”
As soon as you deliver the check to Trump Admin, the real wall can begin immediately. Until that check arrives, a steel wall 30 feet high will serve as interim cost effective solution to protecting the border with what money is available from congress.
So did the Israelis. Very effective for them.
That's pretty much what is going to happen.
Everybody is totally focused on “The Wall” when the real goal is to solve our current border crisis by sealing and securing our Southern border as quickly and effectively as we possibly can.
This first phase accomplishes that goal and will do so faster and for less money than any of the walls crisis ever dreamed possible. Additional concrete and security features can be added when and where necessary.
Trump currently has 1.6 billion dollars to spend and about 1200 miles of high priority border to build the wall on (of which about 700 miles already has a marginally effective border fence in place) which gives him roughly 1.34 million bucks a mile to get control of the border.
By concentrating on the high traffic areas along the California border, the 100 mile wide Arizona Nogales corridor and similar arms in Texas and New Mexico to start with, Trump can win more or less effective control of the border surprisingly quickly.
About October, it's going to become obvious that President Trump is well on his way to winning control of the US - Mexico Border with the 1.6 billion the Democrats grudgingly gave him to build the wall and President Trump did not have to give up a darn thing on DACA to do so.
Trump gets his wall (effective control of the border) and the Democrats lose all the leverage and time pressure that they had with the President on the DACA issue.
This reality will hit home just about the time the Courts finally catch up and rule DACAs appeals are denied and DACA is officially ruled as unconstitutional and invalid.
The Democrats and Republicans are going to have a hard time explaining away how they gave Trump the 1.6 billion he needed to build the wall and got nothing in return - especially after Donald Trump doubled his offer to 1.8 million DACA waivers and begged Democrats to do do a deal with him.
This will not play well with the DACA community as they face Supreme Court mandated deportation when they lose their appeals. They will then believe Trump when he says Democrats would rather have the DACA issue to anger the base that have a deal that gives DACA people what they want and need to stay in the country.
The barrier that the Israelis built to halt the free movement of Palestinian terrorists is a mix of concrete panels in some areas, and twin parallel fences with razor wire and patrol roads in between in others - Trump seems to be drawing a lot of inspiration from that project’s success. Suicide bombings in Israel are remarkably uncommon now, compared to the way things were before the barrier’s construction.
Another sit-down comic in FR. And if you must know, I wasn’t criticizing you specifically. But it’s way past your head so I’ll leave it at that.
We can see them, too. And that’s the point in certain areas. Not to mention the ‘fence’ is sitting on top, in places, of what appears in to be a 10ft highway wall, giving it even more height, and, seems to be pretty much graffiti proof (which is an instant improvement over the graffiti’d sections being removed)

Looks like the area is close enough to civilization that seemingly new section of fence may be adequate for that section.
There is a lot of rationalizing in your reply, trying to make it sound like it’s the ‘big beautiful Wall’.
This isn’t how walls are made, but you just go right on telling yourself it is.

Frankly, I don’t care about a big, beautiful wall.
I care about securing our Southern border as quickly as we possibly can.

WE can see OUR enemy, and yes that is a feature.
We all want our border secured quickly.
We also have an obligation to our children and our grandchildren to leave something for them.
The fence that they’re showing in the pictures, the one that’s going up right now, chances are good it won’t be working anymore for them.
Yes, always learn from actual results than professors pontificating theories. We can certainly learn THREE things from Israeli’s.
(1) Israeli flights have the fewest terrorism prroblems
(2) Israel’s have built a wall as you describe, to cut terrorist attacks by a huge margin
(3) School teachers in Israel are allowed to carry firearms, with the result no mass shootings.
