I’m still holding out for a Jetsons’ flying pod.
Musk is very good with rockets but no so good with cars.
(the tucker 48) ceased operations on March 3, 1949, due to negative publicity initiated by the news media,

Ping.
Why? Because VW unveiled two years ago their electric car platform, Modularer Elektrobaukasten (MEB) or Modular Electrical Construction Kit. Designed to scale from very small cars up to the vehicles the size of the current Passat sedan, MEB could replace every non-luxury car VW model by 2023. So while Tesla fails, VW will be in the cutting edge of electric car development.
It’s up to Musk. He’s a great promoter and he’s worth $16 billion. If he wants to save Tesla he can put some of his own money up.
Losers and Nobodies
He’s lucky people keep buying Tesla stock because they just keep issuing more to keep up with the burn rate. Eventually it’s going to crash. Do see how they are going to “fill the bubble”.
Straight up hit piece.
Makes very clear that nobody expects an actual 5000 cars per week... then fails to state he’s producing about 2000 per week - instead making it sound like he’s making a dozen a month.
Article is nasty enough I have to wonder what benefit the author gets from Musk failing - and seems author is scared Musk will succeed.
Thousands of people who were promised cars last year are still waiting for cars this year.

600,000 I heard
Tesla has never made a profit on selling cars. Their business model is based on using tax breaks and the sale of carbon credits to offset losses from the sale of cars. The liberal media has been so worshipful of ‘green’ technology that they haven’t bothered to look at the actual numbers or do any actual investigating.
How would the car companies ever meet this standard? Electric cars! You know, the ones that can't cool you when it's hot, nor warm you when it's cold. The ones that start you to have "range anxiety" 15 miles after you leave home. The ones that cause you to be billed $5.00 for the same amount of energy in a gallon of gasoline.
Obama, in all his wisdom, declared that electric cars produce ZERO carbon emissions - ignoring the coal, oil, and natural gas used to make electricity. That meant if you sell one electric car for every 27 mpg SUV that you sell, your CAFE magically becomes 54 mpg. Voila! - you meet the standard.
This put Musk in the driver's seat, as long as he could actually produce some sort of car. Even if it can't cool, heat, steer, or deliver you to your destination without running into a truck, he owned a goldmine - as long as the CAFE stayed at 54 mpg. He could then sell the company to a Ford or a Toyota or a conglomeration of them. They could then price the "Tesla" at a price lo low that there would be enough fools buying them to bring their CAFE to 54 mpg.
The standard is gone, and soon will be Tesla.
The Big White Elephant In The Room related to electric cars never gets discussed. Where will the battery regeneration power come from? By that I mean they must recharge off the national power grid. Electric Cars are not the answer. Focus more R&D on gas propulsion powered. By gas I mean gases such as Hydrogen. Find a safe way to contain it suitable for MVA impacts and a way to use it as fuel for engines. That is the future past oil. Electric cars simply are not.
sooo,
How many billions of American tax dollars been given to this Musk guy?
Obammy’s favorite charity case.
How much was each Tesla vehicle subsidized? Criminal it is, criminal.
And REAL car companies had to try to compete with this subsidized boondogle.
