Two soldiers were killed in an Army AH-64E Apache helicopter crash at the local training area of their base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Friday night, a statement from the 101st Airborne Division said.
The accident happened at about 9:50 p.m. local time Friday evening and involved two soldiers from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, the statement said.
The crew was conducting routine training when the accident occurred and there were no other casualties, it said. The cause of the accident is under investigation, the Army said.

It would seem that the military should concentrate more on training and competence at all levels and worry less about diversity and political correctness. Won’t happen until all Obama commissars are purged.

Given the ops tempo around the world that precludes a lot of training and maintenance, given the decade of neglect given the armed forces in the last decade, and last...given the attention focused on women, homos, trannies, global warming, everything and anything besides flying aircraft and conning a ship.... yes, it’s very statistically possible.

Something seems...amiss..
Old Huey driver here. Night tactical flying is wickedly dangerous, even with third generation night vision. Nap of the earth flight, hovering around rather than flying over obstacles, and with wires everywhere anything can happen to even the best of the best.
With all these latest military crashes, findings need to be made & then made public, including total crew flying hours in each incident as well as maintenance records. Training optempo & observance of crew rest are also factors.
My opinion is that eight years of Obama’s defense department put a tremendous strain on flight crews, aircraft, & aviation maintenance standards. He hated our military, JMHO.
Odungo’s slashing on training...if their not flying, less maintenance... Not to mention replacement...

I was stationed at Ft Rucker Alabama 1973-76. They trained the Huey and Cobra pilots there, and it was not uncommon to have several fatal accidents, some of which were mechanical failure, or human error by student pilots. I was a medic, and saw the results of several fatal crashes, very grisly, burned beyond recognition.
I don’t know about then, but in 2016 there was a total of 8 u.s. aircraft incidents. There has been six since March this year and most have been in the Southwest.
Just a short check of the 70’s show this pace at least 4 times. Once with 6 in a day. None of the helicopters. Statistics mean nothing in the short run. Are you positing another explanation aside from accidents/mishaps?
Because the best training ranges are there?
I guess let’s just keep watching.

what in the hell is happening kind of inquiry.
There is no such thing as a routine training flight, especially in an AH-64.
