A gay couple and a bystander who tried to help them were assaulted Sunday after the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade, police said.
Rene Chalarca and Dimitri Lugonov told police they were were attacked by three men after they shared a hug while waiting to use a restroom...
....one of their attackers yelled an offensive Spanish word for homosexuals before hitting them several times, according to the police report. A bystander who saw the attack and tried to intervene was pushed to the ground and suffered a cut to the back of his head, the report said....

One report says the alleged attack was unprovoked. How do they know that? The video of the fight shows a scuffle going on near a public toilet. I know lots of nasty stuff goes on near and in those bathrooms....And since it happened in the wake of a homosexual parade, there might have been extra activity happening.
Just saying.
So an illegal mexican assaults gays and it will somehow be Trump’s fault
It’s very common to share hugs while waiting in line to use the can. Must be more to the story. /S
I find the term “offensive Spanish word” to be offensive.
Probably tripped in their high heels and looking for justification.
i am so confused. Which victim group to support in this case? Gays or illegals
How is calling someone a homo, who is a homo, offensive?
The assaulter was an illegal. That’s kind of expected since the politicians don’t do a thing about it.
I have to agree.
Trump supporters getting assaulted never got so much press and faux outrage.
so what is the offensive word in Spanish? Just curious,
Marica and sometimes mariposa especially in Colombia. I much prefer faggot
Oh, that is another thing. The media SAYS an offensive term was used but they have NO PROOF. NONE. They assert it based on the testimony of someone else as if that testimony is unimpeachable.
US' acceptance of homosexuals generates Illegal Immigration by homosexuals.
It's offensive because it reminds the homo that he's a homo, which is very painful to the homo, protestations of pride notwithstanding.
Probably Cuban slang, maricon.
“one of their attackers yelled an offensive Spanish word for homosexuals before hitting them..”
And the news cycle moves on...
Probably “maricon” (faggot)
>> so what is the offensive word in Spanish?
It varies country by country. As Gringos, the most common word we hear is “Maricon” (faggot), or, rarely “Mariposa” (butterfly) in the case of overly effeminate behavior.
Colombians will often use the more humorous “Marchatrás”, which is a contraction of “marcha hacia atrás”, which means “to march backwards”.
Among my Argentine extended family, I seen them use a non-verbal rubbing of the hands together, as if they were saying “I wash my hands of the affair”.
What are they doing ‘hugging’ in front of the bathroom? Were they about to have sex? Open exhibition of doodling is an affront to many (especially in hispanic culture) and perhaps the two should have a little discretion. The guilt lies with the punks who beat them, but sometimes these folks should show a little common sense and try to be a little modest in public.
