There’s also Twitter rumors that the US and Russia are trying to walk this back some.
An air assault/missile strike on Syrian targets is a real BAD idea right now. Can our intel guarantee that we don’t strike Russian personnel or assets? If we hit enough Syrian targets there will be Russian casualties as collateral. I believe that the Russians would respond to this by attacking our naval assets.
Despite this, some here are itching for a war with Russia, not unlike the neocons like Bolton, Sen Graham and that that half dead jackass from Arizona, McLame. I even read a post from someone that stated a tactical nuke release wouldn’t be so bad. Really? Once the tactical exchange starts, all bets are off. It could go from NATO targets in Europe being hit to a strategic counterforce attack on our ICBM fields and boomer pens off the coast.
The only time I could justify a nuclear exchange is if our territory is under direct attack. Over a pipeline in Syria under the bullshit guise of human rights and suffering? give me a break
