Pope Francis does for church attendance what Colin Kaepernick did for NFL attendance
americanthinker ^ | April 14, 2018 | Monica Showalter

The comparison is obvious. A new Gallup poll finds a precipitous drop in Catholic Church attendance coinciding with the years of Pope Francis's papacy.

Francis is known for shoving secular statist left-wing ideology into church teachings, through both his words and his deeds, just as Colin Kaepernick did with the National Football League. That's clear in what Pope Francis says and in whom he invites into the Vatican to provide advice. And surprise, surprise, the result is the same: the fans and the flock stay away.

Breitbart reports:

Catholic church attendance in the United States fell by six percent between the pontificates of Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, the sharpest drop in decades, a new Gallup poll has revealed.

The empty pews have the curious redolence of Colin Kaepernick, who created empty seats in America's football stadiums by introducing left-wing protest into National Football League opening ceremonies. It was the specter of a $20-million football player telling the audience paying that salary that they and their country were just too racist for him. No surprise: The audience drifted away, and NFL profits plummeted.

Such an audience wanted entertainment, not hectoring. And it's likely the same for the Catholic Church. It's been a while since Francis has attempted to stick to pure religion and spirituality in his statements and deeds; it's always something with a polarizing political message from him. Well, audiences there want religion, and a religion with demands, not a mere call to vote left and leave it at that. They want actual religion just as football fans want actual football.

What a legacy.

So much for the Francis Effect, which the media gushingly pushed, claiming that Pope Francis, with his left-wingery, would revitalize the Church.

Oh, Lord. Doesn't it make you sick?

I feel nauseated when I see others being manipulated by the Delphi Technique --- or worse, when I realize I've been manipulated, myself.

The FrancisChurch apparat routinely manipulates people in this way. Blatantly so, with the pontificate of the Peronist.

All legitimate Church people, patriots, citizens, FReepers, whatever: we should do a little reading on small-group manipulation and learn how to fight it.

It can be fought and beaten. But it takes understanding of the process, and planning.

Yes. I’ve seen churches use the Delphi Technique before. Very disheartening. The serpent in action. Lies and deception aimed at drawing people away from Truth. Terrible.

"I am not leaving the Church. Frankie will leave before I do. He is like a whirlwind that eventually stops. We just need to be prepared for the damage."

Exactly. Why would I leave the Church Christ founded because of a bad Pope? The Church has had bad (even worse that Francis) Popes in the past and has survived. I too am a survivor and part of being a survivor is outlasting those who would crush your spirit. Francis will someday be gone, and God will restore his Church.

All of our Popes of the last century were saintly and even learned men. We were probably overdue for a stinker.

All of our Popes of the last century were saintly and even learned men.

I don’t think that Paul the Sixth would be included in that category of saint.

Paul the Sixth gave us errors of Vatican II and those that followed him failed to correct those errors and even compounded those errors. All of our Popes of the last century were saintly and even learned men.

I agee that we should not abandon the Church over a bad Pope or series of bad Popes but do not ignore error or accept it because it is sanctioned by what you consider a good Pope or because it is the teaching of a Pope or the Church hierarchy.

Dear Onyx,

Please try the Fraternity parish in SD, you will only hear Catholic teaching with no added nonsense. The FSSP guys are solid. Sorry about your bishop, he is a real winner (eyeroll).

I will remember you at Mass tomorrow.

You can tell how bad Francis is by how many liberal "Catholics" just LOVE the guy.

Pro tip: If you define "success" by how many liberals "like" you, you are by definition a failure.

The Catholic church was NOT set up to be "popular", it was set up to be outside of politics.

Pope Kaepernick indeed.

Pope Francis is a Soros puppet.

Soros has placed his boy from Harvard, Jeffrey Sachs, in the Vatican for the last several years as Pope Francis’ handler.

Notice that Francis pushes the exact same things that Soros’ puppet US president Obama did:

Global warming

illegal aliens

muslims

Jeffrey Sachs Encourages Catholic Organizations to Divest

https://catholicclimatemovement.global/jeffrey-sachs-divestment/

Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University and Special Advisor to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, expressed his strong support of the four Catholic organizations that announced their plans today to divest from fossil fuels on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Pope’s encyclical Laudato Si.

World-renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs yells at Vatican reporter: ‘You’re disgusting’

ROME, November 6, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – “You’re disgusting, you’re disgusting, disgusting,” yelled world-renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs in the hallowed halls of the Casina Pio IV in the heart of the Vatican Gardens. Sachs, the Columbia University professor whose monthly newspaper columns appear in more than 100 countries, was in a full rage, threateningly pointing his finger in the face of this reporter during his outburst. I sat there rather stunned but also, I must admit, somewhat intimidated since this man marches in echelons of power far above the top one percent he is so fond of disparaging.

A collaborator with George Soros, Sachs is known around the world as a guru on climate change, sustainable development — and to pro-lifers — population control and abortion. It is this pro-life concern that was the source of his rage. He was railing against me because of an article I wrote the previous day in which the headline referred to him as a “pro-abortion globalist.”

Pope Francis Should Be Wary of the Advice of Jeffrey Sachs

https://stream.org/pope-francis-wary-advice-jeffrey-sachs/

American economist Jeffrey Sachs has attacked what he calls “right-wing” and “ideological” “conservatives” and “religious fundamentalists” allegedly funded by the coal-owning Koch brothers for having “mounted a fruitless protest” outside a meeting of “scientists” about climate change at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences at the end of April. The meeting is significant because the Academy provides advice to Pope Francis, who is expected to release an encyclical on the environment this month.

Climate Change and the Catholic Church

May 3, 2015 by JEFFREY D. SACHS

ROME – Pope Francis is calling on the world to take action against global warming, and many conservatives in the United States are up in arms. The pope should stick to morality, they say, and not venture into science. But, as the climate debate unfolds this year, most of humanity will find Francis’s message compelling: we need both science and morality to reduce the risk to our planet.

The first point to note is that an overwhelming majority of Americans agree with Francis’s call for climate action. Unfortunately, their views are not represented in the US Congress, which defends Big Coal and Big Oil, not the American people. The fossil-fuel industry spends heavily on lobbying and the campaigns of congressmen such as Senators Mitch McConnell and James Inhofe. The world’s climate crisis has been aggravated by America’s democratic crisis.

In a survey of Americans conducted in January 2015, an overwhelming majority of respondents (78%) said that, “if nothing is done to reduce global warming,” the future consequences for the US would be “somewhat serious” or “very serious.” Roughly the same proportion (74%) said that if nothing is done to reduce global warming, future generations would be hurt “a moderate amount,” “a lot,” or “a great deal.” Perhaps most tellingly, 66% said that they would be “more likely” to support a candidate who says that climate change is happening and who calls for a shift to renewable energy, while 12% would be “less likely” to support such a candidate.

‘Unholy Alliance’ – Exposing The Radicals Advising Pope Francis on Climate

Jeffrey Sachs, a special advisor to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, participated in a 2014 Vatican workshop on sustainability as well as in the Vatican summit on climate that took place in April 2015. Sachs was reportedly the author of the Pontifical statement, Climate Change and the Common Good: A Statement of the Problem and the Demand for Transformative Solutions, issued on April 29, 2015.

Pope Francis Has a Red Adviser

Jeffrey Sachs, a leftist self-proclaimed adviser to the Pope also acts as liaison to the U.N. He penned an article for a Jesuit publication alleging that Pope Francis will urgently challenge the “American idea” of “unalienable rights.”

Sachs is advising the Pope, the same Pope who fired conservative advisers and who is appointing leftist cardinals at a somewhat fast clip.

Globalists want Church to serve ‘New World Order’: Italian journalist

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/population-control-promoters-infiltrate-vatican-italian-journalist

Sachs is crucial to understanding the change in recent years in the Holy See’s stance on population, development and the environment, said Cascioli.

Sachs is a Harvard-educated economics professor at Columbia University and a high-level UN consultant regarded as a leading expert in economic development and fighting poverty. He has twice been included on the Time magazine list of 100 Most Influential People in the World.

He has advocated abortion in his work, describing it as a “lower-risk and lower-cost option” than having children.

In his 2008 book “Commonwealth: Economics for a Crowded Planet” Sachs said legalized abortion is a cost-effective way to eliminate “unwanted children” when contraception fails. And in 2011, he said “Nigeria should work towards attaining a maximum of three children per family.”

Sachs has been invited to collaborate with the Vatican a number of times, including moderating and co-hosting a Vatican conference on climate change in April 2015 and presenting at another later that year in November, as well as delivering a keynote lecture for the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in 2013. He is scheduled to participate in the next Vatican climate change conference in early November as well.

Sachs also co-authored the final Vatican environmental mission statement entitled “Climate Change and the Common Good.”

Cascioli recounted for the conference how in a 2012 interview Sachs had told him, “In Africa, I met many bishops who, regarding the birth control, told me privately that they are in agreement with me, although for obvious reasons they can’t say that openly.”

This statement exemplified Sachs’ thinking, Cascioli said, and his action, which is directed at the poor countries — especially Africa — and the idea of infiltrating the Church.

Sachs is “celebrated as one of the most important world economists and in the latest years a fixed guest star of conferences organized by the Vatican, especially from the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, more and more centered on ecology and sustainable development,” Cascioli said.

“In fact,” Cascioli said, “Jeffrey Sachs is the key figure to understand the transformation that has taken place in the Holy See’s approach to the issues of population, development and the environment.”

Pope Criticizes Capitalism, Calls For New Economic Order

The Pope’s Boss

http://sorosfiles.com/soros/2016/08/the-popes-boss.html

Within a few short months of Argentine Bergoglio’s papal election, the Soros inner circle was firmly entrenched at the Vatican, calling the shots, drafting documents, setting the Soros political agenda with the power and moral persuasion of the Vatican.

Jeffrey Sachs, Special Advisor to UN Secretary General on the MDGs also enjoys a 30 year long economic relationship as a Soros stalwart, close advisor and grantee of Soros’ millions. Sachs headed to the Vatican to craft the blueprint for the Vatican’s rollout of the theology of global warming.

Immediately, the UN through its Soros-infused stable of experts began to dominate the Vatican agenda by silencing and banishing any opposing views on the science of global warming. Happily for Soros and the UN, Pope Francis only wanted to “dialogue” with one side of the climate debate.

Since 1989, economist Jeffrey Sachs has served as Soros’ peripatetic globe-trotting expert promoting his controversial “shock therapy” by lifting currency and price controls, and various other fast paced tactics to introduce countries into the free market economy with mixed results. Sachs rebounded with the assistance of Soros and heads the Earth Institute at Columbia U and reconfigured his skill sets as the UN poverty czar directing the Millennium Villages project with the assistance of $50 million from Soros. Now firmly transformed as a poverty expert, and environmental guru, Sachs built his fiefdom at the United Nations with Soros dollars and transformed into a poverty expert and environmental alarmist, as master of global warming catastrophe handwringing.

Within three months of the Bergoglio election, Jeffrey Sachs, close Soros confidante, is featured as the premiere Vatican speaker, expert, author, and cheerleader of the Francis Eco Theology. Sachs became a perfect fixture at the Vatican, with 10 Vatican addresses promoting the SDGs. Sachs orchestrated the Vatican environmental agenda, by building momentum and consensus for the SDGs. With the input of many other Soros acolytes at the Vatican, they wrote the Vatican’s radical climate change manifesto, Climate Change and Our Common Home in anticipation of the coup de grace, the Papal Exhortation, Laudato Si.

Seemingly, overnight, the Holy See became Ground Zero behind the UN Sustainable Development agenda as climate change gained new spiritual status as the Francis theology of environmentalism.

Vatican Invites “Pro-Abortion Globalist” to Speak, Deride Trump at Conference

BY NEWS DIVISION · NOVEMBER 6, 2017
http://pulpitandpen.org/2017/11/06/vatican-invites-pro-abortion-globalist-to-speak-deride-trump-at-conference/

Jeffrey Sachs, an pro-abortion advocate and eugenicist, spoke at the Vatican on November 2.

Jeffrey Sachs was invited to speak at a conference at the Vatican, organized by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. Sachs is a senior United Nations advisor, is among Time Magazine’s 100 most influential leaders, and is a renowned economist. Sachs is also the world’s foremost proponent of “population control,” advocating abortion and eugenics as a solution to a supposed ecological crisis. His 2008 book, “Commonwealth: Economics for a Crowded Planet,” and advocates for abortion as a low-cost way to lower nations’ fertility levels and has gone out of his way to criticize Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush for keeping U.S. tax dollars from paying for abortions overseas.

This is not the first time Sachs has been honored by the Vatican. He previously spoke there in 2015 and 2013, and the connection between Sachs and the Vatican seems to be Monsignor Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, who is the chancelor of the aforementioned Pontifical Academy of Sciences. Sorondo sits on the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, founded by Sachs. Returning the favor, Sorondo has been repeatedly inviting Sachs to discuss sustainable development (which in his view, includes abortion as a solution to global problems).

Sachs took a break from advocating for abortion at the Vatican to take a cheap shot at U.S. President Donald J. Trump, saying, “Believe me, Donald Trump didn’t think of pulling out of the Paris agreement. He doesn’t think of much.” The crowd – which contained many pro-abortion advocates, laughed wildly.

Vatican Climate Expert Shows That $ustainability Pays

https://onepeterfive.com/vatican-climate-expert-shows-that-ustainability-pays/

For the last two years, the Vatican has trotted out its newly-minted expert and jack-of-all-trades, Jeffrey Sachs. Embracing the image of the stereotypical member of the Ivy League elite, the Harvard-educated economist-turned-polymath and director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University propounds on every topic that passes his gaze – from poverty to global warming, climate change to Thomas Aquinas, human trafficking to meteorological events, droughts, Catholic doctrine, and so on, ad infinitum. The curious love fest between Francis — the periphery pope of the poor — and Sachs — the modernist, pro-population control UN poverty guru — has raised many eyebrows among Catholics and Vatican observers alike.

Despite the assertion of openness to discussion in his recent enviro-cyclical, Laudato Si’, the pope has summarily rejected any dialogue with scientists who dispute the reality of global warming or anthropomorphic climate change. Instead, Francis relied on Sachs to do the heavy lifting, bridging the modernist Vatican/UN alliance on climate, sustainable development, and the Paris Climate Treaty. As the globe-trotting UN architect of Sustainable Development, Sachs pops up everywhere, but lately his most frequent cameos seem to take place at the Holy See. In addition to his consultative engagements in Rome, Professor Sachs dutifully served as the keynote expert promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at eight Vatican eco-summits. His hard work paid off when Pope Francis endorsed the SDGs in Laudato Si’, as well as during his Address to the United Nations during his U.S. trip.

Mission Accomplished, Jeffrey.

Sachs, the self-appointed savior of the downtrodden everywhere, has never missed an opportunity to promote his agenda to trash and blame the wealthy for all the problems in the world. Give him a platform and he will pontificate on the evils of Wall Street wealth, with particular attention payed to everyone’s favorite demons on the right, the conservative Koch brothers. Sachs repeatedly jumped on the corner soapbox at Occupy Wall Street and lambasted the 1% that is trying to ruin our planet.

While some would like to bestow on him the the titular honors of a secular Mother Teresa, it should perhaps be remembered that this papal poverty professional is handsomely rewarded for his “we are bursting at the seams” apocalyptic warnings of population explosion and impending climate catastrophe.

Sachs has earned big money writing books about poverty, sustainable development, and the greedy 1%. His latest book is entitled, you guessed it, The Age of Sustainable Development. How timely. Indeed, Sachs has been aligned for decades with his mentor and funder, George Soros – also known as one of the world’s richest men. Yet, Sachs would never criticize the activist billionaire at Occupy Wall Street.

It turns out that this peddler of class warfare on the part of the impoverished is himself not so poor. Last week, the New York Post reported that Sachs and his wife purchased a $6.25 million Upper West Side condo in Manhattan. But before you scoff over the hypocrisy of Mr. Poverty purchasing a 4 bedroom, 4 bath luxury condo for seven figures, rest assured that it is a “green” home. His new pad is in Harsen House, located at one of the city’s first LEED-certified “green” buildings. How could Sachs be labeled one of the cruel rich if he does his part and buys an enviro-friendly house – whatever the cost?
