JEFFERSON CITY Leaders in Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens’ own party plan to call for a special session to weigh whether to impeach the governor following a bombshell report detailing allegations of sexual coercion and blackmail that has both Republicans and Democrats calling for his resignation.

House Speaker Todd Richardson, R-Poplar Bluff, held a press conference Wednesday on the heels of a report detailing allegations he called "beyond disturbing" that were made by the woman at the center of the scandal.

He said a special House committee investigating allegations against Greitens would need to continue its work beyond the May 18 end of the legislative session.

Most likely.

Greitens wanted to be president. Those days are probably over.

The MO Republican Party is probably one of the worst state parties in America.

Always instability despite having talented politicians like Ann Wagner, Roy Blunt, Sarah Steelman, Ed Martin, Jay Ashcroft.

Sad.

Serious allegations....wonder why they didn’t come up during the campaign?

How can just one gal bring the fellow down on her own word anyhow? We don’t want to be unsympathetic to women in the plight of maltreatment, but we also don’t want to stand with jaws open to floor level at the first accusation either, wondering also why she didn’t leave the cad long ago?

Gov was confused. He thought MO was the “Show Her” state.

I think he’s totally smeared.
But there are inconsistancies in the accusations.

When I started reading it I was wondering if this guy really did anything to be impeached for.

By the time I finished I realized it didn’t matter.

“She felt coerced to give him oral sex”. Did she or did she not give him oral sex. Either way she could have just bit it off.

“MO” must stand for MOrons ... or perhaps ...

“Show me yours, and I’ll show you mine!”

Is this the one where the woman didn’t complain but her ex husband claims she told him all this stuff? I’m not sure the article is being honest.

Missouri FREEPers, are these allegations credible? Or is this a case of Republicans caving to lies?

First of all the Governor has admitted to the affair. It occurred in 2015 as the guy was pumping up his military record and humanity by producing a video with others singing his praises. He got a 2 million dollar Pac-to-Pac backdoor contribution that came so late it didn’t have to be reported until after the primary and little is known about its true source even today.

He never held elective office until he ran for Gov. He defeated a pol that defected from the Repubs to run as a Democrat.

I moved from Missouri where I was born in 2012 before this happened. I hate that Dems are getting to trash him but it is his fault and the fault of the State’s voters.

Is he creepy enough to do this S&M crap and tie her to the ceiling joist? It is something he claims is not true. His admitted conduct now makes belief difficult for his fellow party members.
