What was he discharged for?

From what I’ve read injuries incurred during his active duty. I didn’t see anything specifically mentioned.

Dad, who fought in the Guadalcanal/Bougainville Campaign in the Marines absolutely HATED listening to R. Lee Ermey…not because his drill instructor act was bad…but because it was RIGHT ONE THE MONEY.

It gave him 1942 Parris Island chills to hear him.

one of the best DI portrayals of all time.
Until Ermey came along, I think Jack Web's portrayal in "The DI" was the best.
