A former 911 operator who hung up the phone "thousands" of times on people attempting to call in emergencies in Harris County, Texas has been sentenced to jail time.
Crenshanda Williams, 44, was found guilty of interference with emergency telephone calls Wednesday after "systematically" hanging up the phone on residents of Harris County, KTRK reported.
She was sentenced to 10 days in jail and 18 months probation.

18 months probation? What does that mean? Does that mean she can’t hang up on anyone for 18 months?
I hope she was fired.
Wow, I didn't know that was a law on the books. Not objecting to the charge. Just never thought that someone would be dumb enough to require the law. Guess I was wrong.
SHe’s terrible, but they also have horrible EMS management if it took THOUSANDS of hang-ups to deal with the problem. They should be monitoring data on call volume, length of calls, performance of each operator, etc. in real or at least nearly real time. Such performance anomalies should have been noticed, researched, and dealt with far far sooner.
I have to admit; that’s almost exactly what I was thinking when I posted this story.

Two words: “protected class”
Looks like she’s an Obama voter. Her lawyer stated she was going through a tough time in her life and sentencing her would not resolve the issues at the department. Well it solves the issue of her hanging up on people. It also sends a message to the rest of the 911 call takers.
I still can’t past the idea that cops and the 911 responders let that poor boy die in a minivan this week.
Just tragic.

She has Black Race Privilege. Rules and Laws that apply to others dont apply to her. She was hired because of the color of her skin and got only 10 days in jail for the same reason.
I'm waiting for someone to say that it's not her fault, she wasn't properly trained.
