The Democrats cheated their hearts out. They were 99% sure Hillary would win.
Trump won for the same reason Hillary lost and Cruz would have lost: the vast, massive wave of popular support that filled the arenas.
Your fairytale that Cruz couldn’t even pack 200 people into a small hall but was going to win against Hillary’s vast resources is out of touch with reality. Hillary and Cruz were unable to inspire voter enthusiasm; Trump had people standing in long lines for hours in horrible weather, only to be turned away after the venue filled up.
The respective levels of voter enthusiasm told the story. Only the blind can’t see it.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York state lawmakers on Friday introduced legislation to give the state’s attorney general and other local prosecutors the power to bring criminal charges against people pardoned by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The bill is intended to close what New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman called a loophole in state law that could permit Trump to pardon people for state crimes, which he has no authority to do, as well as federal crimes.
Passage could make it harder for Trump aides who might be pardoned to escape prosecution, even if special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russia’s role in the 2016 presidential election were shut down.’

I’m really fed up with that term, along with other “Ivy League” Schools, as being a false symbol to denote that their grads are better and smarter than other people.
I’ve had friends and worked with folks who earned undergrad degrees at more traditional colleges and later grad degrees from schools like Harvard, Penn, Yale, etc.
As a Manager at a major defense contractor, I often turned down applicants after interviews or refused to do interviews based on their resume’s. ...They had been fed the BS that because of their schools they could just walk in and demand 6-figure salaries. ...Losers!
Those are excellent points. I had been focussing on the fact that Sessions believes spending 27 years on the government payroll = the crème de la crème—the best of the best. But your point is equally trenchant. The fact that Sessions bows to the high altar of far Left liberal academia—Harvard—is just as damnatory.
