Bill Cosby was convicted Thursday of drugging and molesting a woman in the first big celebrity trial of the #MeToo era, completing the spectacular late-life downfall of a comedian who broke racial barriers in Hollywood on his way to TV superstardom as America's Dad.
Cosby, 80, could end up spending his final years in prison after a jury concluded he sexually assaulted Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. He claimed the encounter was consensual.
Cosby stared straight ahead as the verdict was read but moments later lashed out loudly at District Attorney Kevin Steele after the prosecutor demanded the former TV star be sent immediately to jail. Steele told the judge Cosby has a plane and might flee.
"He doesn't have a plane, you a--hole!" Cosby shouted at Steele. "I'm sick of him!"
The judge decided Cosby can remain free on $1 million bail while he awaits sentencing, but restricted him to Montgomery County, where his home is. No sentencing date was set.
Cosby waved to the crowd outside the courthouse, got into an SUV and left without comment. His lawyer Tom Mesereau declared "the fight is not over" and said he will appeal.
Shrieks erupted in the courtroom when the verdict was announced, and some of his accusers whimpered and cried. Constand remained stoic, then hugged her lawyer and members of the prosecution team.
"Justice has been done!" celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, who represented some of Cosby's accusers, said on the courthouse steps. "We are so happy that finally we can say women are believed."

He’s running quite a risk. He should have absconded before the trial. How much does he need now?
Yes. Because if they can play such games with anyone, they can play them with anyone
You’re right.
Well said and right on.
I always thought he came across as arrogant and condescending and not a nice person.
KATHLEEN WILLEY?
“I didn’t make any claim. The article where the image came from, did refer to the plane in the picture as “his private jet”.”
OK, I’m NOT pickin’ on you.
If the article referred to a Pilatus as a ‘jet’ (it’s a single engine turboprop) then we must conclude that the rest of the story is bogus as well.
Best to you.
I agree.
I don’t think so.
Check with O.J.
Pilatus does not produce any jet aircraft. They produce propeller driven aircraft, including the PC-12 and PC-24 turboprop aircraft.
I doubt if you’re allowed to etch your name onto the tail of a charter plane. So his plane, if not owned, is leased. What’s the difference? If you lease a car, it’s still yours, neh?

Accused sex attacker Bill Cosby flew out of Philadelphia Wednesday on his $3 million plane after posting $1million bail
airport staff readied Cosby’s Pilatus-PC12 turboprop - which has the name ‘Billy’ etched on the tail.
LOL!..................yep!..................
see post 83.
I used to enjoy the original Law and Order show but at some point they began to run the same plot in various perambulations: theres a crime, cops know who did it but theres no evidence, DA McCoy figures out some way to railroad the guy for something unrelated that he didnt do and get him sent away for life. We were all supposed to shout yeah! That shows him! Justice! But instead I was just upset that they were glorifying that the system can put anyone that they want to away for some trumped up reason. When I see it in real life, even for a bad guy, it upsets me. Feels like weve gone from better that 100 guilty men go free than an innocent man lose his liberty to whatever it takes, however long, rest assured that well find a way to get you.
And you swallowed. It's just another witch hunt.
Well for one thing, that’s not a jet. It’s a Pilatus PC-12
“The accuser was paid $3.4 million ten years to settle her claim against him. So, why is it a crime now? Can someone explain?”
The money ran out.
PC-24 is a jet. It’s their newest thing. That photo isn’t one.
