OK. This one needs the story behind it: 1972. My then girlfriend, now wife of 43 years were hitchhiking to Alaska.
Somewhere in the Okanogan valley we were picked up by a guy and this song came on the radio. All we heard was the opening bass lines, before he changed the station. I knew the song, so did she, he didn't. It became stuck in my head and hers as well. We soon identified the song, but not the lyrics.
Over the course of the next 30-40 miles I worked the lyrics out in my head. He stopped for something and left us alone in the car. I turned around to her and sang the song. We both got a huge laugh out of the song and especially it's dark lyrics:
"The cryin tires,
the bustin glass,
the painful scream,
That I heard last

Thank You Fatima
Also before I forget, the other one sang in the lovely vacation spot of South Vietnam .. cannot think of any grunt or Gyrene much less Air Mobile grunt that didn't know the words. Armed Forces radio must have played this every 15 minutes.
