Be nice to see those Tide Pod eaters start a light blub drive for North Korea

Might need to start with 'solar' lawn lights first...

Sounds like a pretty good deal as long as we can verify he gave them up. This deal has two pluses. He gives up weapons and by agreeing not to invade them, we escape having to feed them.

Sure, just open the borders and let the NK people see what’s on the other side.

They’ll do the rest

He's blown apart his testing site...the mountain collapsed on itself...it may already be leaking radiation into China. If he even tries to take 1 more step, China puts him down.

He has no choice but to join the 21st century.

With these statements, at the very least he will box himself in by not following through and making it that much easier to sanction them even more. He can, however also use these statements to try and isolate Trump and weakened the maximum pressure campaign. Say what you want but the status quo is over

It will become moot when the North Korean people discover freedom and prosperity.

They will see that I am not the kind of person who would shoot nuclear weapons to the south, over the Pacific or at the United States,” Mr. Kim told Mr. Moon, according to Mr. Yoon’s account of the meeting.

hehehehehehahahahahas HHHAAAA

I still have a streak of skepticism

Why? It's been in the (not so) Invisible Hand's best interests to keep our troops in the middle of that peninsula. President Trump is not of their ilk. I just pray that he's cleaning house and will stop listening to those around him who drank the globalist swamp water.

It’ll be interesting to see if Trump can get some of the Japanese prisoners back as a show of good faith

Why would he worry about an “invasion” unless he is planning on starting something?

Their mountain cave-in has set them back considerably, so they need something new and dramatic in order to play for more time to rebuild, perhaps even a couple of decades.

that’s probably why they’re pulling, this time.

North Korea isn’t the only Kim it’s also a Cadre of generals.

who really thinks if young Kim completely discarded their nuclear program that he could survive a coup from the generals..?

More bullcrap.

He cannot be trusted.
Neither can anyone in the Kim Dynasty—unbroken for 70 years and spillers
of millions of gallons of American soldiers’ blood —notably 1950-1953.

Signing ANY document, including a peace treaty, means NOTHING to them.

The US vital interest here is preventing North Korea from having the capability of nuking us. Secondary but still important interests include preventing them from invading the south or nuking anyone else. We need to resist the inevitable Neocon claim that we have a vital interest in removing Rocket Man from power. We don’t

It was another dramatically conciliatory statement by Mr. Kim, whose country threatened to do exactly those things during the height of nuclear tensions last year.

Wait, wait, wait! This is from the NYT. Didn't they tell us it was President Trump doing the threatening last year?

The Norks may not have any choice. Without out side assistance into N K the gov’t can not provide even subsistence to the people. Sooner or later someone will have to do something about that aND Kim will be target one.

I’ve read accounts from NK escapees who said that nearly everyone in the country knows what’s really going on outside their borders. Nearly every one of them knows that the country is starving while even China is abounding with prosperity. Even the idiot generals with their oversized general officer hats know this. This means that those in power surrounding little Fat Man are as suspectible, as the Iraqi generals were in 2003, to being turned by the CIA. Eventually, one of them would have put a bullet into the head of little Fat Man.

China told him this too. That if he was assassinated, they would merely shrug and send their own troops in to restore order, and maybe take over the country.

So little Fat Man had no choice.

The good news is that our leadership, including John Bolton, will never any denuclearization treaty proceed with airtight verification procedures. Unlike the weenies like Tommy Vietor in the Obama Administration. South Koreans and Europeans will be all over the country during the process. The truth about the outside world will spread like wildfire and will be unstoppable.

The end result? NK will open up. They will, within 5-10 years, overthrow little Fat Man, either peacefully or violently. The Koreas will probably reunify then.

The parallels with East Germany are eerie but true.
