AT&T (T) this week said it lost 187,000 pay-TV customers, including satellite TV subscribers and its U-verse landline business.

AT&T's DirecTV Now internet streaming service added 312,000 customers. But AT&T garners much lower profit margins from video streaming.

Still need the cable company’s internet to stream though. I predict rates will increase.

Having owned a small cable TV company I can say that the markup on tv service is about 300%. The markup on internet service is about 1000%. The markup on digital voice services is about 400%. Which services are more profitable to deliver?

If there wasn’t 5 others in this house cable tv would have been gone years ago.

that is their hook....hard to convince the whole household to quit the racket.
