WASHINGTON (WMAL) – Boy Scout history will be made this weekend at Nationals Park. Saturday for the first time ever an all-girl Cub Scout den will lead the flag ceremony at the start of a Major League Baseball game.
Since Saturday will be a first in the history of baseball, all media coverage will go to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
The Nationals take on the Diamondbacks Saturday at 4:05 p.m.

Also not the fault of the BSA. If you burn your dinner tonight, that doesn’t mean you can barge into my house and sit down for dinner.
And think about what you said. The Girl Scouts are horrible. And so now we import all the adults who screwed that up, and let them ruin BSA. THAT is what will happen. Sensibilities and political causes of females will start being considered.

And every boy in the place will be trying to get the attention of these cool girls in every way you can think of. And BSA will cease to exist.

No, but Scouts, both Boy and Girl utilize public facilities.

Twenty years ago, my daughter was in girl scouts and did hiking and camping.
GS leadership at troop level is very much up to the individual
Mothers and women failing to be leaders or bring weak leaders have let down the girls, not GSUSA
You realize those meetings were planned by weak female leaders, not by the GS program
Just buried my mother who started our towns first GS troop and took us girls camping hiking and cooking over fires 60 years ago
They can create girl groups under Scout management, but girls should NOT intermingle with boys. Having girls destroys what makes it the BOY scouts.
What does the use of public facilities have to do with this discussion?
And what is stopping the local girl scout leaders from doing camping and hiking? What is stopping them from having a group for girls that like to hike?
Why do you assert that, because some girls WANT something, that it is the boys obligation to provide it?
We still do
All it takes is women ( or men even) to lead troops and do those things
Too easy for too many women to dump this role on men and blame “ GS” for being weak
Or to use cub scouts as babysitting because they have kids of both sexes and cubs do more family events whereas many GS troop leaders prefer to do troop camping
You really don't think that once the more liberal females get their hands into BOY Scouts that they won't change it? That it won't become an organization just LIKE what the Girl Scouts morphed into?
Brownies and Girl Scouts were unremarkable experience, mostly making crafts, peddling cookies and chatting about menstruation.
The Boy Scouts had all the fun and adventure and were taught lifelong applicable skills.
The Boys Scouts are a far better organization than the Girl Scouts and girls should not be denied they chance to be part of such a great organization
My son told her that the girls would have their own troop. she does not like Brownies, that they haven’t even learned to make a tent or start a fire or hunt their own food It is Boring being in Brownies.
No chance of her wanting to become a boy later. She also has to be held back from bedecking herself with bling and is holding that down to just a necklace and a bracelet.
But she wants to actually DO STUFF in the outdoors, not just crafts like in Brownies.
Whatever happened to campfire girls?
