NEW YORK (AP) — For 108 years, the Boy Scouts of America’s flagship program has been known simply as the Boy Scouts. With girls soon entering the ranks, the group says that iconic name will change.
The organization on Wednesday announced a new name for its Boy Scouts program: Scouts BSA. The change will take effect next February.
“We wanted to land on something that evokes the past but also conveys the inclusive nature of the program going forward,” said Chief Scout Executive Mike Surbaugh. “We’re trying to find the right way to say we’re here for both young men and young women.”

Just the Cultural Marxists destroying everything “good” in culture which develops smart people with Virtue. Habituating virtue in children is essential for freedom. Our culture is producing dumb, ignorant evil people who have no agency—no ability to “think” for self and be virtuous (free).
Destroy the “culture” so that boys can not interact in healthy, instructive ways with other boys, so they can learn what true masculinity is, embed it, so they can mature into real men and be capable of maturing so they can deal with the “Other”—which takes true masculinity (maturity).
They have destroyed every area of boy “culture” now-—so they can completely feminize them, destroy masculine instincts and make them into little “boy toys” like Geffen does, and the homosexuals always have since before Sparta and Milo.
To destroy maturity and remove masculinity—you destroy all moral “cultures” and masculine male role models (destroy the Natural family) and hyper-sexualize them (Sex Ed) so they remain puerile and infantilized for life—incapable of virtue, commitment and understanding truth and reality and Natural Laws (instincts, science). They will be programmed, controlled “bots”, incapable of ever “thinking” for themselves which takes FREE ASSOCIATION and FREE PLAY and groups of all boys/all girls so they can climb their hierarchies and learn about self and truth (natural laws).
They are destroying our culture-—destroying that which created the Age of Wisdom, Excellence, the Minds which created the Constitution of USA. Can’t have brilliant, moral geniuses who understand the nature of boys-—completely feminizing them, controlling them, so they remain stupid and ignorant of Truth (God/Natural Law/theology/philosophy/biology).
Good post. It’s very common for large organizations to lose touch with their roots ... which means they’ve outlived their usefulness.
Camping with girls is quite a different experience than with the guys for boys. Metro sexuality on parade.
So sad there is no longer a place in American culture for men.

The first whiff of Susie cub scout and her mom saying they want to be with the boys, that “core” principle is gone.
I rose through the leader ranks from Den Leader to Scoutmaster. I founded a troop. One son made Eagle, the other Life when we left to move to Trail Life. That son earned their Pinnacle Award, the Freedom Award which is harder to earn.
My best advice is to find a Trail Life USA troop near you and make the move.
From my experience, it’s a far better program. It uses the best of the legacy we came from and improved it. We let boys be boys.

My son was in Royal Rangers. Not many packs but it was a great experience for him. Similar to scouts and he made every single badge.
And being under the religious umbrella protects it from leftists.
Next boys from conservative families will be deemed unwelcome in the Boy Scouts. It never ends.

Where have you been? The schools are forcing little boys and girls to “think” they are interchangeable-—that radical egalitarianism of Marx where Evil is Good, Boys are Girls and Up is Down. Even our “Just Laws” force the insane religion of Marx-—with irrational oxymoronic “homosexual marriage”. It removes “Right Reason from Just Law (Our Constitution is Dead).
To erase Christianity—the Age of Reason/Wisdom—the Cultural Marxists knew they had to “kill God” and they do it by destroying the ability for any human being to be rational....by embedding irrational concepts into little children by the Prussian indoctrination system which creates irrational, order followers like the Hitler Youth or David Hogg—just “human” beings who take orders and are controlled for life (puppets, totally dehumanized by the “System of Mass Indoctrination” which destroys free play, free association and puts little children in artificial, controlled prisons for life).
The “System” patterns the brain in irrational, dehumanized pathways so that they are removed from Reality, science and truth for Life-—just capable of taking orders, period (being “bots” of the programmers). Only “cognitive dissonance” occurs when Truth (God)/Reality is exposed to these programmed, conditioned “bots”.

Girls are being placed in Boy scouts not because they disagree with Girl scouts but because an invading army overruns its objective. Feminism won big time.

I have four units in a town outside Seattle. Unimagineably liberal. Incredibly liberal. In fact, INCLUDING SF, I live in the most liberal region of the United States.
The parents I get are conservative refugees, for lack of a better word.
I suspect Austin, and areas like that may have units suffer from some liberalism seeping through, but the parents I get are running away from all of this new age BS.
I once nearly had a lesbian couple put their boy into a Pack around 2009. You could see the conflict, and I’ll never forget it - they knew the boy needed a fatherly influence in their lives. Their politics, however, trumped the best interests of the boy.
Happily for me, and sadly for the boy, the family never joined. I haven’t seen a homosexual parent or child since. It’s just not a problem.
Where there are gay kids/parents joining units, its activism. It’s so tough to keep a Troop going in the first place that it doesn’t take long for the unit to fold, and thus, problem solved. Back to school night happens, a new Troop forms, and no activism problems.
I’ll tell you what I tell national - the whole thing runs on program for boys, and they are your demographic. Oddly, it means you don’t have to cater to the girls, because they want EXACTLY the same thing, if not more.
If adding girls means ENTIRE FAMILIES get involved in the Scouting movement, then perfect. I’ve always had unofficial female dens in my Packs. Had a few females participate in Troop events, but never put them in uniform like I did with the girls in Cubs.
I have two 14 year old units, and both are coed, and it works extremely well. Mine are in and active until HS graduation, and that is a record most other national units don’t have.
If this brings in whole families, and keeps them whole, I’m good with it.

I’ve got four. I’m not seeing it. I’m in THE MOST LIBERAL REGION in the United States.
My families are conservative refugees. Period. The boys have Scouting, and the girls participate vicariously, because the GSA is a full-tilt mess.
This solves that problem. I’ve been integrating females with my units for over a decade. There just isn’t a problem.
Boy Scouts membership has been declining.
We will see if this decision caused the number of Scouts to increase or decrease.

I was in the Boy Scouts in the mid 1940s. Our scoutmaster was a career Army sergeant from a nearby Army base. He ran the troop like the Army and the boys loved it.
There was absolutely no female involvement of any kind. The boy’s mothers had no fears of queers or off color activities of any kind.
We camped, did boy things in a totally single sex without social or other sickness.
When I retired back in the early 1970s I went to the district scout office and offered my services. They invited me to some event the next weekend. I went and it was miserable.
First of all, women wearing the Scout uniform were micromanaging the boys and their fathers. The uniformed women were bossy, exasperating, and totally ruled by their hormones and their approaching menopausal cycles.
Everything was feminized, emasculating, and horrifying. I looked elsewhere and found the Civil Air Patrol for my son. Yes there were women and girls in this fine patriotic organization, but they weren’t as organizationally degraded as the Boy Scouts were.
In just a few decades from the WWII Boy Scouts to the 1970s version, leftists, perverts, and women were able to completely destroy it.
So - the cub scout troop is (probably) finished. The handful of us that were holding it together are gone, or soon will be. Too bad, really. I'd like to think that I helped some of the kids, particularly those that needed to have a good male role model in their lives. They're easy to find - they're the ones who will talk your ears off at every opportunity, about anything and everything. Fine by me, I can discuss the finer points of fishing, or basketball, or whether Batman could beat Superman. They just want a man to talk with...
Local Boy Scout troop is actually doing fairly well - the local closures have helped us, along with the fact that the leadership is even more conservative than I am. Transvestites and Gays? Yeah...no. People are putting their kids in it, because it provides something that the boys almost certainly aren't getting in school, and in some cases, not at home either.
I'm not under any illusions that it will be left alone - liberals infect everything, and destroy all they touch. However, I'll be satisfied if we can stay at arm's length just a bit longer, and I think that will happen. Once my kid is done with it, well, it would be nice to leave a legacy for other kids going forward, but I doubt that will be allowed. I'll be satisfied with winning the battles that need to be won.
I have a name for the scouts but best to keep it to myself. What a disgrace they’ve become.

And a good post from you too. I’m afraid you’re right. The Boy Scouts have certainly outlived their usefulness as defined by its past accomplishments.
What we have so far is Out With The Old...But new we need to have a new “new” to bring in.
In my opinion, the best “new” would be to restore the Old Scouting criteria. BUT to have absolutely no role for women in this new endeavor.
It is up to our men to restore masculinity. Feminists never will.
