No BOA accounts here, but I did close 3 Citi store cards this morning.

Had been waiting until after I closed on my house.

Explained my reason for closing:
- On the phone with the rep closing my account
- On the Citi sites I used to manage my accounts
- In messages to the retail stores for which the Citi cards were opened

I’d like to boycott Bank of America. But I already do no business with the SOBs.

I cancelled my 26 year account several years ago due to raw and complete incompetence. They called me about supposed suspicious activity on my ATM card. A 30 minute call determined no untoward transactions. The next day, I went to the ATM for some cash and it swallowed my card.

The doofus kind of forgot to tell me they cancelled my card. Then they refused to send me a replacement card at my temporary address. Mind you, I was 600 miles from home, New job, away from family for months, had no cash and no plans to go home for three weeks.

They refused to work with me and left me high and dry. I refuse to acknowledge their existence.
