Yes. Thanks. And I see his hang them all attitude has turned into a don’t ping me. Some people’s post dominated the treads and looked personal. If so, I can understand deep hatred for outlaw MC clubs. But don’t root for the biggest criminals to walk the planet - government.

"I wonder if Reyna is even bothering to call the shots these days, or if one of the assistants left in the office is making the call to drop the cases that he wouldn’t be willing to prosecute when they come up on the docket.

I can’t see Reyna agreeing to the dismissal language used."

According to prosecutors, the cases are not being dismissed because the 15 men are innocent, but because, at an average rate of only one trial every three years, the McLennan County District Attorney can only condemn a few of the many “culpable” motorcyclists to dungeons.

“While the grand jury has determined probable cause for the defendant’s arrest and prosecution exists, based on continued investigation, the state is exercising its prosecutorial discretion in dismissing this matter in order to focus its efforts and resources on co-defendants with a higher level of culpability,” Reyna wrote.

In the last two months, Waco prosecutors have dismissed charges (which may still be refiled) against 43 of the living who were indicted. Carrizal remains indicted and so do 110 others. At the same time, mostly for blatantly political reasons, prosecutors have announced they will not seek to indict 32 other suspects.

I see from the thread that you posted last Thursday that Reyna, in fact, is not calling the shots on some of the cases

On Monday Brian Roberts, the attorney appointed to prosecute Hewitt resident Matthew Alan Clendennen after Reyna withdrew from the case, filed a dismissal motion in which he said, “After reviewing all the facts, circumstances and evidence, it is the state’s position that no probable cause exists to believe the defendant committed the offense.”

It was that language that I was recalling when I made my comment, but I had forgotten that there was a special prosecutor that was throwing Reyna under the bus on that one, and not one of the ADAs.

Kudos for your civility, as none has historically been demonstrated by the poster you addressed.
