I stand corrected on that detail - that hardly makes someone the ideal candidate as a nominee is a criminal convict who spent a year in prison for a mining disaster that killed 29 people because the conviction was a “misdemeanor.”

From a strictly political point of view, it is a serious deficit to overcome. I don't know how the people of West Virginia are going to look at this, but I think he loses a lot of them right out of the gate.

The man says he is innocent, and that he was railroaded on the only charge on which he was convicted. The fact that he wasn't given a felony argues on his behalf, and so does the fact that this occurred under the Obama administration and shortly after mine inspectors ordered changes.

I can see this thing going badly, and I just hope the people of West Virginia make the best choice.

I worked in industry and safety was one of several hats I wore. I guarantee to you that if the mine inspectors are like some of the OSHA inspectors who came to our plant, they are fully capable. Not all, but some of the years OSHA inspectors came they were like Nazi storm troopers. They met with the union first, and then came in to hurt the company as much as they could.

I believe you. I've dealt with my fair share of petty bureaucrats during my life. They are like little Nazis.

I watched that video where Blankenship gave a brief portion of his side, and I have to say, it felt as if it had the ring of truth about it. Obama inspectors probably did want to destroy the Coal industry.

Of the three, he was the most unimpressive looking, but when it came to speaking, he seemed more real than the other two.

Blanken$hit doesn’t even live in WV, he lives in NV. He only lived in WV when he ran that mine.

Only DemonRATS will be supporting him, but that may be enough with the Republican vote split.
