Is Robert Mueller going to investigate George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Andrew Jackson, too?
Fox News ^ | May 7, 2018 | Hans A. von Spakovsky

Those who claim that President Trump is guilty of obstructing justice because he fired James Comey or because he asked Comey if he could go easy on Michael Flynn are way off base. And so is Robert Mueller if he is actually conducting such an investigation.

What none of these critics seems to understand is that under our Constitution, the executive power of the federal government is fully vested in the president. That includes the responsibility to ensure that “the Laws be faithfully executed.” In other words, the president is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, not the attorney general or any of the other lawyers who work inside the Department of Justice, including special counsels appointed under Department of Justice regulations.

The doctrine of prosecutorial discretion, long recognized by the courts, holds that government prosecutors have almost unlimited authority to decide whether or not the facts and circumstances of a particular case warrant the opening of a criminal investigation and the prosecution of any individual. Thus, the ultimate authority to decide whether to conduct an investigation and prosecution under federal law rests with the president. It doesn’t rest with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, or Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Yes, presidents often leave those decisions to the Justice Department, the executive branch agency to which the president has delegated authority to enforce the laws passed by Congress. But that delegation does not abrogate the ultimate constitutional authority – and responsibility – of the president to make the final decision on the enforcement of federal law. And that has been an accepted understanding of the constitutional prerogatives of the presidency since our founding.

Mueller HAS TO to keep going until the Administration changes...He has NO choice

The thing that kills me most is, if they were doing this to obumber the repubs in congress would have put an immediate stop to it months ago.

Why do you think he needed all those blank subpoenas?

Their statues are being torn down and their names are being obliterated all over the country. Perhaps this is part of the same plan.

“...because he asked Comey if he could go easy on Michael Flynn”

Trump did no such thing. This event always gets misrepresented this way in the media, so much so that now even outlets by Fox have fallen into the trap of parroting this meme.

Trump said (according to Comey) “I hope you can see YOUR WAY clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go”.

That is an expression of Trump’s hope that the result of Comey’s investigation will yield a good result for his friend, Mike Flynn. It is NOT any kind of request or directive to go easy on him to stop the investigation or to falsify the result.

The key words there are “YOUR WAY” - as in Comey’s way, not Trump’s way. It’s an implicit acknowledgment that the investigation must proceed as Comey would advise it to, and is simply an expression of hope that at the conclusion of Comey’s investigation,, Flynn will be in the clear.

It is not the same as saying ... Please don’t do the investigation of Flynn YOUR WAY, but instead, start overlooking things you otherwise would not, and go easy on him.

No.
He doesn’t have to.
They have already been condemned.
You know? “Slave owners.”

Mueller is covering up the facts and fabricating crimes, some high integrity.
