Think it through, of course Trump was going to kill it regardless. But he just killed two birds, the Iran Deal and what little credibility Lurch still had along with any possible 2020 Presidential aspirations (yes it has been mentioned recently) All done with a deliberate phony leak that Kerry's seditious actions was the final straw.

I think it's more than the Ninth that would disagree. The Logan Act will most likely been seen as too broad be struck down...maybe even by SCOTUS. Private citizens are free to go abroad and say whatever they want. (of course it would be different if we were in a state of war...formally declared war... with Iran)

In June 1971, Le Duc Tho arrived in Paris to join the North Vietnamese Communist delegation to the peace talks. His arrival marked a sea change in the Communists' approach to advancing their goals via negotiations. Le Duc Tho was with Ho Chi Minh one of the original founders of the Communist Party of Indochina, one of North Vietnam's chief strategists.

He arrived to join a comrade, Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, who had been a member of the Central Committee for the National Front for the Liberation of the South, and was now Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government (PRG) of South Vietnam. The military arm of the PRG was widely known as the Viet Cong, just as Madame Binh was widely recognized as the Viet Cong delegate to the conference.

On July 1, 1971, within days of Le Duc Tho's arrival, Madame Binh advanced a new 7-Point Proposal to end the war. Central to this plan was a cleverly crafted provision offering to set a date for the return of U.S. prisoners of war in exchange for the Americans setting a date for complete, unilateral military withdrawal from Vietnam. In other words, America could have her POWs back only if we would agree we lost, surrender, and set a date to leave.

About one year earlier, two young Americans had also come to Paris, arguably for their honeymoon -- John Kerry, a young, clean-shaven Navy war veteran, accompanied by his new wife, the former Julia Thorne, whose lineage traced back to George Washington.

But honeymooning was not John Kerry's only purpose in traveling to Paris. Kerry's presidential campaign has now acknowledged that he "talked privately with a leading communist representative" there.

On April 22, 1971, as he testified before Senator Fulbright's Committee on Foreign Relations, John Kerry mentioned that in Paris he had meetings with "both sides" of the Paris Peace Talks. The strong likelihood is that John Kerry also met with Le Duc Tho, or some other representative of the North Vietnamese delegation, in addition to Madame Binh who was in Paris representing the PRG. There is no reason to assume John Kerry had any interest in meeting with representatives of the other two sides in the Peace Talks -- the United States or South Vietnam.

You may be absolutely right about Kerry not being a factor in killing the deal. But isn’t it sweet that PDJT is throwing shade on Kerry anyhow? Yup.

I think he chose to do none of those because he can’t have any illusion that Trump respects him. Influential people who have access to Trump probably won’t be convinced. And, there as nothing good about the deal for the American people. The only option left was diddling with the Iranians, which may have made him feel important, but was ineffective.

It was very effective. Kerry lobbied the Iranians, the French, English, and Germans to keep the agreement in place without U.S. participation thereby making our pullout less impactful. If we impose sanctions but Iran, France, England, and Germany are still buying and selling oil and doing business we will not be effective in eliminating the Nuke program. Why did the oil price stay down after our pullout? Because the smart money knows we have been played by the europeans. There will be no disruption in the oil supply from Iran to Europe. What Kerry did was Treason. Trump and Israel are now isolated and Europe, Russia and Iran are working together. IMO. Just my thoughts here, nothing concrete yet but lets watch the next few weeks and see what goes down.

Who believes Kerry is the reason Trump decided to withdraw? I don’t. It may have made Trump’s decision sweeter but not the reason.

As far as I can tell, the only people bothered by this are the Yurps. They -especially Germany and France are no “allies” of ours and they’ve been pocketing the mullah’s blood money for decades. Their main complaint seems to be that the US pulling out will prevent their companies from pocketing even more of the mullah’s blood money.

As to claims that this will make Israel less safe.....gosh, the Israelis don’t think so. Similarly all the gulf Arab states are happy we pulled out. I doubt Anybody in Asia gives a crap. So the Yurps don’t like it. WGAS?
