We just moved our 18 year old granddaughter into a Toyota Camry. Shes been hit twice since she started driving at just over 16. Neither her fault. She was driving a Honda Civic.
People/Mexicans drive like complete idiots here.
Well have a chance to vote down the new gas tax in November.
Also $2.79 here on the east coast Hobe Sound, FL.
Doesn't look like it's going down to me. Here's a one-year chart of West Texas Intermediate crude. What I'd be interested in is why it is going up, because I've been under the impression that we are awash in oil these days.
dammit... now that songs going to be running through my head the rest of the day
“According to EuroNCAP crash testing, the current model Fit (known as the Jazz in Europe) is vastly safer than most larger cars of even ten years ago”
Safe crashing into a wall or another vehicle that isn’t higher than the beltline. I agree the airbag and crumple zone technology is amazing for those type of impacts.
BUT it does nothing to prevent you from being run over or decapitated by a much higher vehicle. Roof pillars are nothing versus something like a dumptruck and they can never be designed to handle that much mass.
A heavier vehicle with the same safety technology will always be safer than a lighter one. It’s simple physics that a heavier vehicle will reduce the forces on the occupants when all other things in the accident are equal.
$2.47 a gallon in the Piney Woods of East Texas.
Same $hit every year. Gas goes up end-April, beginning May. Every year the media acts as if it’s a surprise.
When a Republican is president, they find a gas station owner who is going to raise the price over the next dollar increment. Then they stake out all night at the station and snap pictures the moment the sign is changed.
If a democrat is president, they do nothing.
$2.57 for regular in Lakewood, CO.
The Government makes more Profit on Fuel than the Producers do.
In CA, the per Gallon Gas Taxes (both Federal and State) along with Local Sales Taxes adds up to about $.85 Cents a Gallon. That doesn’t include all the hidden Taxes being paid from the Wellhead to the Distributor.
My understanding is that those Evil Big Oil Companies make an 8% Profit on their product. Do the arithmetic.
Remember when Mad Maxine let it slip that she wanted to Nationalize the Oil Companies while she was grilling their CEO’s?
What if Trump were to change present Department of Energy policy and promote changes in the law so as to dramatically reduce prices at the pump? What would be the public response?
The FRACKERS are currently ramping up production as you read this.
If cheaper gasoline is developed, will governments resist its deployment to protect their tax revenues from taxation on gasoline?
$2.74 in SE Wisconsin. $3.09 across the state line in IL.
