I was so anti Cruz when he failed to endorse Trumo at the convention - but I think he’s trying to make amends. I never wanted him as POTUS, and that won’t change, but he no longer disgusts me.

Cruz was willing to gamble the election away to Hillary for his own selfish political reasons. Assisting Hillary is unforgivable.

You bet. That and some of his actions prior to that were projecting that character that went on full display in the Convention. Just over the top. Might as well sent out invitations asking to be politically annihilated.

Ted Cruz is very popular here in Texas. He is one of the good guyz. I hate that Trump attacked him during the primaries, but I hate that many bought into the attacks and began labeling Ted as lying Ted. It was a slogan Trump used to denigrate his opponents, a strategy to win. Apparently it worked.

No one is perfect, but Cruz is a conservative Senator. If we can't get behind someone like Ted Cruz...then the conservative movement has been made impotent.

“But many Arab and European leaders slammed Trump for upending a decades-old foreign policy in which U.S. presidents declined to weigh in on the contested city”

Yep. Wouldn’t want to change to a policy that may actually bring about peace. Bad for business. Better to keep both sides simmering and ready to go to war. If you’re a Eurocrat, keeping issues like Jerusalem unresolved is great for business.

Finally, Bill Clinton’s legacy comes to full bloom. The embassy has been moved.

I bet Dems won’t be talking about that.

Are there really no Democrats who will be sharing in this great moment? I guess it’s Party over Principle at all times.

I sure don’t.

There is a direct connect here too, but at the moment I can’t remember what it was.

It had to do with how a SCOTUS justice might deal with a case, based on an opinion expressed by Ted.

How did he betray conservatism?

Around the end of the summer in 2015, I fell in behind Trump.

At that time I had heard good things about Ted, and I thought he would be a great Vice-President for Trump.

At that point I planned to support Cruz for two terms as Vice-President, then two terms as president, and then to be appointed to the SCOTUS.

Over the next six months I slowly evolved my positions on him. The first to go was his Vice-Presidential slot. Then I found myself never wanting him to be president.

Then I finally had to give up the idea of supporting him for the SCOTUS also.

I don’t want you to think I never supported him for various top level positions. I did.

By no stretch of the imagination did I ever want Hillary Clinton anywhere near the White House, as president. I doubt you did either.

To me it was imperative that we had to prevent that by doing everything in our power to stop it.

When Trump won the nomination, we had a chance to come together at the Republican Convention. That’s our first chance to gain a lot of momentum on the way to the General Election.

Instead of coming together, Cruz refused to back Trump. We came away from that convention splintered. A lot of NeverTrump people were very nasty concerning Trump. They weren’t going to let it go. Many of them didn’t right up until election day.

Cruz spent parts of two days after the convention saying he backed Trump and taking token actions to prove it.

He spent about an hour working the phones on the first day he said he would vote for Trump. Three days before the election Ted attended three campaign rallies. At the first, he neglected to mention the name Donald Trump as he supposedly endorsed him.

Considering Cruz probably only spoke for 20 minutes or so at these rallies, perhaps as little as five, he all in all spend about one hour and forty minutes backing Trump in public.

He cared so little about the chance that Hillary Clinton might win the election, that he basically sat on his hands, instead of doing everything in his power to help defeat her.

As a Conservative, I couldn’t possibly sit on my hands for those months leading up to the election.

Ted could. That to me does not depict a man that is a dyed in the wool Conservative.

I think he sold out Conservatism.

Once again, if all Conservatives had done what Ted did in 2016, Hillary Clinton would be president.

How about chuck n Nancy... spending deals with them have been so great! Nothing but wall funding and America first with those deals. It has really paid off for conservatives.

Agree. I am glad to see that I will be represented by my junior Senator from Texas.

To hell with those whose Senators will stay home counting their coins.

I agree. I’m sickened by the empty-headed viciousness coming from never-Cruzers. I’d expect that on DU, but am disappointed it’s so rampant on FR.

I could not stand Cruz during the election, HOWEVER he has backed Trump all the way and I give him credit for that!!! He has not been vindictive in any way!!! Can’t say the same for Rubio, McShame, Graham!!!!
