ALL the Little Leaguers had to acquire new baseball bats ($80-$500) this year, and Dick's is the only place in town (Columbus, GA) with any selection. However, Academy is building a new superstore on the same street as Dick's, and is preparing to take Dick's out. Little League moms around here are mostly "deplorables". We like God, and guns and babies and all that stuff. Including (especially?) the ones that go to the fancy private school (Brookstone).

I went the opposite way and replaced my Mossberg 500A 24” barrel with an 18” tactical barrel. No need for optics on something with that short a range but up close it’s devastating. It also kicks like a mule with the lighter, shorter barrel. Or at least it used to before the boating thingy......

I think Dicks has decided to go with selling overpriced sportswear (Patagonia, North Face, Columbia, etc.) to suburban house wifes and yuppie hiker/backpackers. If you go into one of their stores this type of clothing takes up an easy 60% of their floor space. The mark up on that stuff must be massive.
