In the 2013 novel A Delicate Truth, John le Carré presents the deep state as a moneyed, cultured élite the non-governmental insiders from banking, industry, and commerce whose access to information allows them to rule in secret. Wow. Seems like i've heard that theory somewhere or other. Good thing it's just a novel. :)

That is the reason why we elected him. I love the smell of napalm in DC in the morning. Burn it down! We can build a new government in Kansas, far away from the coasts.

The story Osnos tells about the elimination of experts and the deliberate erasure of institutional memory in department after department is chilling. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to replace these people even after Trump is gone. His lasting legacy may be the destruction of the federal government as we know it.--

It will be difficult, if not impossible, to replace these people even after Trump is gone. His lasting legacy may be the destruction of the federal government as we know it.After 100 years of the "Progressive" movement's infiltration, invasion and ultimate takeover of the federal government, the governmen as we know it needs to be destroyed. And by destroyed, I mean returned to its Constitutional pre-Woodrow Wilson form

Heather, you say that like it was a bad thing.
The federal government as we know it today is
rotten and infested with socialists, it should
be fumigated and exposed to the light!
