Joe DiGenova: Frustrated President May Fire 'Clowns' Sessions and Rosenstein
PJ Media ^ | MAY 17, 2018 | DEBRA HEINE

Posted on 05/18/2018 11:40:08 AM PDT by xzins

Attorney Joe diGenova predicted that both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions' days are numbered at the Department of Justice during a telephone interview with Newsmax's Howie Carr Wednesday. DiGenova's claim came after the New York Times published a report titled "Code Name Crossfire Hurricane: The Secret Origins of the Trump Investigation". The report has been interpreted by many as an attempt by sources within the "Deep State" to cushion the blow of the imminent DOJ inspector general report, which is expected to be explosive.

In March, President Trump considered adding diGenova and his wife Victoria Toensing to his legal team, but conflicts of interest reportedly prevented him from hiring them. The attorney is still in contact with Trump, and told Carr that "the president has had it up to his scuppers with these clowns."

Buried deep within the NYT report is the bombshell revelation that Obama's FBI spied on the Trump campaign with covert "informants" (read "spies," or "moles") and electronic surveillance during the 2016 election. Also, contrary to the NYT's previous reporting, the article revealed that the spying did not begin with either Carter Page's interactions with Russians or George Papadopoulos's drunken conversation with Australian ambassador Alexander Downer in London. The spying began before that.

"Let me just tell you something," diGenova began. "My whole body just absolutely convulses when I listen to the idiots on national television who dare to suggest that those of us who believe that there was a brazen plot to exonerate Hillary Clinton illegally, and then if she lost to frame Donald Trump, to suggest that we are -- quote -- conspiracy theorists. I gladly say that I am. The only difference is I have evidence to substantiate the conspiracy."

He added: "If I were still a U.S. attorney, I would have an indictment of about nine different people in three days on the facts that are readily available on the public record."

DiGenova told Carr that Brennan, Comey, and Clapper, as well as six other people in the hierarchy of DOJ and FBI in the Obama administration, need to lawyer up. He predicted at the end of the interview that Brennan would have to face a grand jury. "Whether or not he ever goes to prison, I don't know, but this is for certain -- he should," DiGenova said, calling Obama's spy chief "the worst of the bunch" and "an evil man."

"This notion in the NYT that they had some serious evidence against Trump!" diGenova scoffed. "What they're doing now is they are trying to protect the informant, the spy, the agent provocateur ... who was planting false evidence with two people, Carter Page and George Papadopoulos, so that they would repeat it and then the FBI could pretend to pick it up and then use it to get FISA warrants," he explained.

"This is so sinister, so treacherous, so inconsistent, and so un-American that any Democrat, who like this idiot Adam Schiff from California, who pretends to believe that the FBI was acting properly in this, is a moron. A purposeful moron!" diGenova exclaimed. "They're beyond the 'useful idiots' that the Communists used to use."

The former federal prosecutor had advice for the attorney general on how to handle the FBI sources who leaked to the Times.

"Now if Jeff Sessions is a good little boy and knows his job, what he does this afternoon is he grabs little Rod Rosenstein -- Frankenstein's monster -- by the scruff of the neck, and he says, 'look you S.O.B., you get a frickin' grand jury right now and get a subpoena to everybody at the senior levels of the FBI and former senior FBI officials, put them in the grand jury and you ask them, who talked to the New York Times?'" he advised. "That's what you do if you're a real cop -- and I don't think Sessions is," he added.

DiGenova explained that the whole point of the Comey/Clapper/Brennan operation was to ruin Trump's presidential bid and if that failed, to ruin his presidency. He expressed frustration that Sessions has been unable to see through what he called "a coup d'etat."

"If he can't see that, he's not competent to be attorney general!" he exclaimed. "He hasn't recused himself from understanding that a presidency is being assaulted illegitimately by Mueller and by current and former people in the FBI and the intelligence community."

DiGenova warned that Sessions is on thin ice with the president and his days may be numbered. "If it comes out that Jeff Sessions has not authorized a grand jury into all those unmaskings, all those leaks, ... and Ben Rhodes and John Brennan and James Clapper have not been authorized for subpoenas, ... if he has not authorized that, he's going to be fired," he predicted.

The reason he knew that, DiGenova said, was that both Rosenstein and Sessions had been to the White House twice in the past two weeks to meet with White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, and they were told their jobs were "not secure."

"The president has had it up to his scuppers with these clowns and he has every right in the world to be furious with the incompetence of the Department of Justice under Rosenstein and Sessions," diGenova explained, adding, "I have been told that by people who know."

I think both these guys, and possibly Wray at the FBI, get whacked right after November 6, 2018.

I’m very disappointed in Sessions ignoring all the blatant criminality of high government officials. What’s going on with that? Why bother having any laws?

Trump can fire them at any time that he wants to. Myers V. United States. He doesn’t have to ask anyone’s permission nor opinion. The fact that he doesn’t speaks louder than all the rumors and gossip we constantly hear.

Why would you want to wait until after the election? For crap’s sake, these guys, left around until the election may well sink the Trump Presidency with a RAT takeover of the House. And we should be shouting at Ryan and his band of GOPE pricks that the House Freedom Caucus is going to roll over them if they don’t start supporting the President, starting with Jim Jordan for Speaker. The GOPE behavior is criminal!

Hold fire until after the election, Mr. President, then fire at will.

I think Wray went into this thing, with his smug attitude, thinking that the plan was so huge and involved so many high officials, that he wanted to be on the side of the resisters.

Well, he didn’t know the strength and power of a President Trump. I hope the firings take place long before November.

Who is the man or woman behind Sessions? The answer to that question might help to figure out some of the pieces of the puzzle.

Jeff Sessions pretends to play stupid. Unless he has Alzheimer's disease, he can't really be so stupid as to not see the maelstrom around him.

I like the “up to his scuppers” part myself. Not sure what it means, but it sounds serious. Like Reagan with his “keister” comment.
