White people can be exhausting.
“It’s work to be the only person of color in an organization, bearing the weight of all your white co-workers’ questions about Blackness.
“It’s work to always be hypervisible because of your skin — easily identified as being present or absent — but for your needs to be completely invisible to those around you.
“It’s work to do the emotional labor of pointing out problematic racist thinking, policies, action and statements while desperately trying to avoid bitterness and cynicism.
“Quite frankly, the work isn’t just tedious. It can be dangerous for Black women to attempt to carve out space for themselves — their perspective, their gifts, their skills, their education, their experiences — in places that haven’t examined the prevailing assumption of white culture. The danger of letting whiteness walk off with our joy, our peace, our sense of dignity and self-love, is ever present. As a black woman working in white spaces, my perception of racial dynamics has been questioned, minimized, or denied altogether.”
These words are from Austin Channing Brown’s new book, “I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness,” released this week.

Same here - worked with Black people, had my desk next to black people, etc. We never talked about race - we all complained how screwed up the Bosses were and how our Senior Manager was going to put the company out of business!

Funny, i’ve Worked with black people my entire life. Never have I questioned any of them about blackness. We just accepted each other and did our jobs.
Questions they probably didn't have until you went on and on about being black.

I have been listening to black Americans bitch and moan about their lot in life for decades! Want to know who to blame for your current condition? Look in a mirror.
I have become convinced that a person's lot in life has a lot to do with choices that he/she has made along the way. If you make good choices, you will do okay. If you make bad choices, you will be struggling.
Now, sometimes bad decisions/choices are made; but, are soon realized as bad choices and one can try to remedy the mistake. But, if you are making one bad choice after another --- well, you will not end up in a good place.
I am white and I am exhausted. I am exhausted about being blamed for other peoples' bad choices. It is not like I didn't make bad choices when I was young; but, I realized it and changed my direction. Life has been much beter ever since.

She should embrace whiteness and her problems would go away. It doesn’t matter the color of your skin to join the whiteness club.
You know what is exhausting? Watching BLM tools still treating Sir Skittles and Gentle Giant as martyrs instead of the thugs they died as.
Part of immigration reform should be reciprocity, wherein however many legal immigrants we allow from a given country, they are required to offer a similar number of visas to our citizens. Then we can genuinely say that anyone who feels oppressed by white people has another option.

Many blacks have been driven race crazy to the point where whites don’t even have to do anything to trigger them. Our mere existance and presence is considered a hostile act. When they talk about eliminating “whiteness” they mean white people. They are becoming more and more open about it. They get very excited about when whites will be a minority in the US. When that happens you will see how tolerant of our existance they are.
It works better that way.
If one didn’t know her background looking at Meghan one would conclude she is white. Which brings up the question how do you even define the racial categories anymore since there is so much blending going on. If Meghan is black most of the white population could easily make the same claim. Most whites are varying shades of flesh tone. The only true whites are maybe Albinos and no one wants to be an Albino since it is a condition that has definite disadvantages.
You aren’t wrong. If I didn’t know Meghan’s background, I would assume that she was white.
