Seahawks Owner Gives $1 Million for More Washington State Gun Control

Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers owner, Paul Allen, is pushing a Washington State gun control initiative in response to the May 18 Santa Fe High School shooting. The initiative, No. 1639, is called “Safe Schools, Safe Communities,” and it expands the gun controls placed on law-abiding citizens via the universal background check initiative that passed in 2014.

Allen tweeted:

Paul Allen ✔ @PaulGAllen 18h My statement on a gun safety initiative in my home state of Washington:

Initiative 1639 is a reasonable and necessary measure that will improve the safety of our schools and our communities, which is why I have contributed a million dollars to the campaign. 1/2

Paul Allen ✔ @PaulGAllen I hope people throughout the state will support the campaign, so that we can qualify and pass this important initiative into law. 2/2

1:45 PM - May 21, 2018

Initiative 1639 raises the legal age for semi-automatic rifle purchases to 21, although the gunman at Santa Fe High School used a shotgun. It also creates “an enhanced universal background check system,” although the Santa Fe High School gunman used his father’s guns, thereby bypassing any point of sale check. The initiative would also put in place a firearm safety course for would-be firearm purchasers, requiring them to secure a certificate from the state before being allowed to purchase a firearm. Again, this would not have stopped the Santa Fe High School gunman because he used his father’s legally owned firearms.

Seahawk Sissies aren’t men enough to handle guns a 12-year old is capable of handling?

The ultra-rich want us disarmed, just like Kings wanted to rule disarmed peasants.

Allen has ex-Seals for bodyguards who are armed to the teeth and an escape sub on his mega yacht.

I would suggest that a better use of $1 million would be to set up a gun safety course in high schools.

I provided AMMO for my daughters school, when they had a gun training course.

“Initiative 1639 is a reasonable and necessary measure that will improve the safety of our schools and our communities, which is why I have contributed a million dollars to the campaign.”

We need common-sense gun legislation.

Federal tax credit for purchase of gun safety gun safes.

Federal tax credit for gun safety gun training.

Federal tax credit for gun safety practice ammunition.

Federal tax credit for purchase of gun safety training rifles, shotguns, and handguns.

Another in a massive list of reasons why the nfl is now dead to us and our entire family of former die-hard nfl fans.

The nfl literally HATES its own fan base! The nfl can rot!

Even as recently as last month, they said they were considering the lead traitor for their lineup. If the Seahawks have terminal Colin cancer, I’m okay with that.

Paul Allen is a billionaire

I live in the Seattle area, used to be a Seahawks fan; but, no more, ever.

What I wish Paul Allen would do with his money is get his teeth fixed. This guy has truly awful looking teeth; and, it amazes me that with the amount of money this guy has, he cannot, or will not, get his teeth fixed.

I know, a bit off topic; but, it has always been a pet peeve of mine. Reminding me of an old Joan Rivers joke --- if you are poor and unattractive it is not your fault; but, if you are rich and unattractive it IS your fault.
