MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - Leaders of the Myrtle Beach Branch NAACP held a press conference Thursday morning to express their expectations and what theyll be monitoring during the Memorial Day weekend bike fest.
A federal judge decided Wednesday that the City of Myrtle Beach and the police department could implement the 23-mile traffic loop over the holiday weekend. Judge Marvin Quattlebaum stated that the NAACP had to prove that stopping the 23-mile loop would benefit the public interest for their request to be granted.
"The court finds that the public interest is more likely served if the plaintiffs motion for injunctive relief is denied," the document says.
The Ghost got it right. See reply 33.
Dang, right after the Loop Curfew ended too and he only got a short ride so he didn’t even get to enjoy it. Maybe he should have worked hard and bought his own bike instead of stealing one. Karma sure can be a b!tc# sometime.
I always enjoy the mugshots and ‘what they’re in for’ which always gets better as the weekend rolls on.

And remember, they are all innocent until proven guilty ;)
HA! Never saw the Mugshots..... Some doosies, LOL!
Usually see the “Restaurant Scorecards”, great info in NOT where to go.
But the Mugshots.... HAHAHA.....
Bicycles are a lot different when on a road way than a large powerful motorcycle. Bicycles, for the most part, are an obstruction while motorcycles are not.
“”Bicycles are a lot different when on a road way than a large powerful motorcycle. Bicycles, for the most part, are an obstruction while motorcycles are not.””
It’s Motorcycles, NOT Bicycles, lol :-)
I went back and re-read the article 2X to find out why I picked up Bicycles. Your correct. My apologies so ignore my blather. this is getting to be a reoccurring problem.
Myrtle Beach is a classic example of the truth of the statement attributed to Yogi Berra, “Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.” Seriously, when any place starts to draw more and more people they inevitably ruin the thing that brought them there to begin with. Myrtle Beach used to be a real family vacation town for people who liked to have fun with their children. Now some are beginning to call it “Las Vegas East”. It is well within day trip range for me and I don’t care to go there any longer. If present trends continue ninety percent of the population will be northern transplants soon.
Oh no!!! This is just terrible.............
The weekend hasn’t even gotten started good and they have lost their license! I’m sure we would have gotten some quality videos from 2018 Bikeweek just like this quality video they made previously (language warning among other things)............
Wow.
They closed the Traffic Loop closed last night. http://www.wmbfnews.com/story/38282912/traffic-loop-closes-friday-night-after-less-than-two-hours
Maybe MB will be lucky and finally be boycotted because of the loop.
MB needs a MAJOR face-lift.
I’m going down there as I volunteered for the Prayer Tent this weekend.
You’re a brave soul, God Bless you and be safe. Report on how it is. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t this the 3rd year of the loop? Maybe the crowds have decided MB isn’t as much fun as it use to be and they will find another place to go.
Not sure how long the loop’s been in place.
Love to volunteer in the area. Prayer Tent/walk should be good. I get to run the Soundboard for the band at Church on Sunday; will make it sound REAL good. ;-)
