What? You mean they didn’t ask if he was wearing any underwear, or had any unpaid parking tickets? What the h@ll is wrong with the news these days?

Utterly predictable. The libtards think he should have waited on the police to handle it.

Interesting choice of words, “constitutional carry.” The implication is everything else is unconstitutional, and if that is the case, unlawful and void of effect.

“Governor Fallin”

Is that a typo? Shouldn’t it be “Governor Failin”?

"What is the basis for asking him if he has a CC or any other permit?"

Obviously the reporter wants the armed citizen prosecuted if he did not have a permit to carry the weapon. The citizen ruined a perfectly good mass hooting opportunity and another chance to advance "gun control" laws. So the citizen must be punished.

If the armed citizen had pulled out an AR15 and ended the perp’s shooting spree...what would the headline say?

“One killed as high-capacity AR15 assault weapon used during shooter’s shooting rampage!”

What if the citizen didn’t have a permit? Would CBS like to see him prosecuted?

Yes, if he didn't have a permit CBS would want him prosecuted and jailed. Elites at CBS eat at upscale restaurants with more than adequate security they don't give a damn about the people.

Seems like every tv show asks if person of interest had a permit or if the gun was registered. I think the writers just think that way without knowing most states do not have gun registration. Then again most shows are “based” on CA, DC/MD/VA, NYC, Seattle but I doubt the writers are diligent enough to actually check on the gun laws for the place their show represents.

A very dumb question for anti-gun CBS to ask.... the possible answers are:

1. Yes, yet another citizen with a permit saved many lives today.
2. No, but apparently you don't need a permit to be able to save lives. Who knew?
3. He didn't need one, because of the circumstances (no-permit state, gun was not on his person, etc), and yet he still saved many lives.

Which answer were you actually hoping for, gun-grabbing journalism major?

If they actually prosecute, he needs to ask for a jury trial. In Oklahoma, chances of conviction would be somewhere between zero and none.

“We asked the police if that armed civilian had a permit to carry his weapon, and they told us they didn’t know but they were looking into it.”

This is when the Police should have demanded to see their “encroachment permit” for blocking the street and encroaching on Public Property, then ARRESTED them for Trespassing,.

What if it was Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont, where we don't need any stinking permits?

You can add Missouri to that list. Actually a person has had Open carry in Missouri since the 1800's.

This is silly.

That’s s perfectly legitimate question.

I’m sure that in discussing this story many FReepers would be curious about the legal status of the citizen/weapon.

How are we to know unless a reporter asks?

Oklahoma recently passed a bill to allow carry without a permit. The governor hasn’t signed it yet.

Unfortunately, our idiot governor vetoed the bill. :(
